Job Description:

Role title: Software Engineering Student Assistant

Location: Nørrebro, Copenhagen

* Assisting in maintenance of infrastructure code (CI pipelines, feature development, bugfixes),

* Prototype Camera Calibration Software,

* Aid in transition of tooling from ROS to ROS2.

Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery is looking for a student helper for their office in Copenhagen.

J&J MedTech strives to provide next-generation visualization technologies to benefit surgeons and patients around the world! Our Copenhagen office at Titangade is looking for a student candidate to assist in the development of new features for a complex robot platform.

We’re after a curious, hands-on engineering student with interest in software development, and problem-solving. If you know your way around C++, and are already familiar or looking to get into Computer Vision, Algorithms, and SW development, this is your chance to work with real-world robotic and camera systems and make a significant impact on the next generation of medical devices.

Would you like to have the opportunity to learn from a group of expert computer vision, deep learning, robotics, and software engineers, with access to exciting camera and robot hardware in a central location in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen?

The position is flexible, part-time at 2 days a week. This is primarily an in-office position, with occasional remote flexibility to fit alongside your studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the team to develop and maintain infrastructure code
  • Develop prototype camera calibration software.
  • Opportunities to also work on our other core projects.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor or similar in a relevant field, e.g. computer science/electrical engineering or robotics engineering
  • Ongoing study activities concerning software engineering (ongoing Master education or other relevant field).

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Experience programming in C++
  • Basic familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu

Desired:

  • Experience with Computer Vision library OpenCV
  • Experience with CMake
  • Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS 2)

Other:

  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal
  • Dynamic presence
