Job Description – Clinical Expert Orthopaedics

Position Summary

The Clinical Expert Orthopaedics provides clinical and technical support for Orthopaedic and Trauma procedures (hip, knee, shoulder, trauma), with a strong focus on Operating Room (OR) support.

This role is designed for a hands-on clinical professional with an OR background, capable of supporting surgeons and OR teams in a practical, efficient, and reliable way.

The position is focused on the South-West region of the Netherlands (including Rotterdam, Breda, Dordrecht, Zeeland, and surrounding areas). Candidates are expected to be regionally based to ensure optimal customer proximity and responsiveness.

Compared to senior profiles, this position is more execution-focused, with growth potential in clinical expertise and customer development.

Key Responsibilities

OR Support (Core of the role)

  • Provide intraoperative support during hip and knee procedures
  • Prepare and manage instruments and implants in the OR
  • Ensure smooth case flow and anticipate surgical needs
  • Support surgeons and OR staff during procedures in a professional and reliable way

Customer Support

  • Build relationships with surgeons, OR staff, and hospital stakeholders
  • Act as a clinical contact for product-related questions
  • Support customer satisfaction through consistent and reliable service

Training & Education (Support level)

  • Assist in product training for OR staff and customers
  • Support workshops and basic product introductions
  • Develop own clinical knowledge to grow toward a more senior expert role

Operational Support

  • Ensure availability and readiness of instruments and implants
  • Support case preparation and planning
  • Provide field feedback to internal teams

Compliance & Quality

  • Work in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliant and professional behavior in the OR

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory

  • Operating Room (OR) background (e.g., scrub nurse, OK-assistant, physician assistant or similar)
  • Experience in a surgical environment
  • Strong affinity with orthopedic procedures

Preferred

  • Experience in orthopedics and trauma (hip/knee/Shoulder/ Trauma)
  • Familiarity with surgical instrumentation
  • Familiarity with an OR environment

  • Hands-on and practical mindset
  • Strong communication skills in the OR environment
  • Reliable, structured, and stress-resistant
  • Eager to learn and develop clinically
  • Team player with a customer-focused attitude

Additional Requirements

  • Based in the South-West region of the Netherlands (Rotterdam / Breda / Zeeland area preferred)
  • Willingness to travel within the region
  • Flexible working hours (aligned with OR schedules)
  • Fluent in Dutch, good command of English
  • In possession of a drivers license

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€55,000.00 - €88,090.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
