Our Mission

At Abiomed, part of the Johnson & Johnson MedTech family, our team is dedicated to recovering hearts and saving lives. With the integration of the innovative VWave technology, we are pioneering new, life-changing solutions for heart failure patients. We operate with the agility of a startup but with the backing and resources of a global leader, creating a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Join the Team: A Unique Opportunity to Drive Growth

We are looking for a competitive and passionate Sales Representative to spearhead the adoption of the VWave® Interatrial Shunt System in Southern Germany. This is not just another sales role. You are a foundational member of a tight-knit commercial team, responsible for executing the clinical and commercial strategy on the ground. Your mission is to build a thriving business in your territory, driven by a deep commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence, and, above all, the patients we serve.

Key Responsibilities (How You'll Drive Success)
  • Territory Ownership & Strategy: Develop and execute a winning commercial strategy for Southern Germany. You will identify key accounts, build a robust sales funnel, and take full ownership of the business results in your region.
  • Build Trusting Partnerships: Establish and nurture deep, long-term relationships with interventional cardiologists, heart failure teams, and hospital administrators. You will be their trusted partner, not just a vendor.
  • Clinical & Procedural Excellence: Develop a profound understanding of the procedure and technology. You will be present in the cath lab, working shoulder-to-shoulder with your Clinical Consultant counterpart to ensure every case is a success and every customer is confident.
  • Drive Results with Integrity: Relentlessly pursue and achieve your sales targets. Your competitive drive is balanced by a core commitment to ethical sales practices and doing what is right for the patient, always.
  • One Team, One Goal: This is a team sport. You will collaborate daily with your regional Clinical Consultant and the Strategic Marketing Manager. You will share insights, strategize on accounts together, and celebrate collective wins. Your success is the team's success.
  • Market Intelligence: Be the eyes and ears of the company in your territory. You will provide critical feedback to marketing and leadership to ensure our strategy remains sharp, relevant, and effective.
Qualifications & Experience (What You Bring to the Team)
  • Proven track record of success in a field-based sales role within the medical device industry.
  • Experience in cardiovascular, structural heart, or interventional cardiology is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a sales territory, including strategic planning, and forecasting.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a documented history of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Resides in the territory (Southern Germany) or is willing to relocate.
  • German on a native level and professional English skills are required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory (~75%).
The Personality We're Looking For

We hire for character and train for skill. The right person for this role will bring these attributes to the team every single day:

  • Humility & Confidence: You are confident in your sales ability but never arrogant. You listen to your customers and your teammates, you learn from every interaction, and you let your results do the talking.
  • A Competitive Heart: You are driven to be the best. You thrive on competition, are resilient in the face of challenges, and have a deep-seated need to win—for yourself, for the team, and for the patient.
  • Unwavering Patient Focus: You understand that behind every procedure is a person. This empathy fuels your passion and ensures you act with the highest level of integrity and care. It’s your "why".
  • A True Team Player: You instinctively understand that success is a shared outcome. You proactively support your Clinical and Marketing counterparts, celebrate their wins as your own, and make the entire team stronger through your presence and collaboration.
  • An Owner's Mindset: You treat your territory as if it were your own business. You are proactive, accountable, and always looking for new opportunities to create value and drive growth.
