About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Support Specialist to join our team in Lisbon and play a critical role in supporting healthcare professionals across orthopedic and trauma procedures. This position serves as a trusted clinical partner to surgeons, operating room teams, and commercial colleagues, helping ensure the safe and effective use of innovative medical technologies that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Provide expert clinical and technical support during orthopedic, trauma, spine, and related surgical procedures.
  • Ensure the proper preparation, handling, and utilization of implants, instruments, and surgical technologies.
  • Support healthcare teams in the adoption and implementation of new products, procedures, and surgical techniques.
  • Deliver in-service education and clinical training to surgeons, nurses, and operating room personnel.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize clinical workflows and share best practices to enhance outcomes and efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted resource for clinical questions and intraoperative support.

Commercial Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to support business objectives and customer engagement.
  • Participate in product demonstrations, evaluations, and clinical trials.
  • Support product launches and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Gather customer feedback and provide clinical insights to support market development and innovation.

Quality, Compliance & Patient Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Healthcare Compliance requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of clinical support and training activities.
  • Promote a culture of patient safety, quality, and ethical business practices.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and quality standards related to medical devices.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Proven experience supporting surgical procedures in an operating room environment.
  • Strong understanding of surgical workflows, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, products, and surgical techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in clinical settings.
  • Proactive, patient-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and clinical excellence.

Preferred

  • Additional education, certification, or specialized training in Orthopedics, Trauma, Spine, Neurosurgery, or related clinical disciplines.
  • Participation in AO Spine, AO Trauma, or other internationally recognized clinical training programs.
  • Experience providing intraoperative support for implants and surgical instrumentation.
  • Previous experience within the medical device industry.

On October 14, 2025, Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

It is anticipated following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by Orthopedics employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Details of any planned changes would be provided to you by Orthopedics at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.”

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€22,200.00 - €35,535.00
