Role description
The EMEA Advanced Therapies Product Group is recruiting a CAR-T End-to-End Software Engineer, a key technical role enabling the platform that supports CAR-T operations across EMEA. This role leads the design, development, and setup across the platform, including master data orchestration, agentic workflows, platform configuration, integration development, and asset localization.
The Engineer designs, builds, and maintains the solutions that manage the master data flows, translating business needs into user stories, technical designs, and working software. A key part of the role is to design and build agentic AI solutions that automate and orchestrate master data and platform operations. The Engineer takes a hands-on role in developing and delivering solutions alongside the engineering squads.
The person engages with local EMEA teams to drive country launches and collaborates closely with key stakeholders across the Advanced Therapies organization on the planning, implementation, and deployment of solutions across EMEA.
J&J’s CAR-T digital platform combines off-the-shelf and custom-built solutions to deliver a reliable, streamlined commercial experience across the patient & cell journey. It is being rolled out across EMEA and must comply with varied requirements and support different delivery models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and lead the master data orchestration and end-to-end data flows and integrations across the technology platform.
- Build and deploy agentic AI workflows that automate master data orchestration, operational tasks, and platform processes.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, technical designs, and acceptance criteria for the master data management solution.
- Develop, configure, and maintain business process flows in the orchestration tool; perform hands-on development and implementation of master data solutions.
- Design APIs and integrations between platform components and external systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across integrations, data flows, environments, and platform configuration.
- Guide and support local country teams through platform setup, localization, and launch activities.
- Document confirmed business processes and technical architecture to serve as reference for development and support teams.
- Coordinate with agile squads and cross-functional stakeholders to track deliverables, dependencies, and action items.
- Maintain SDLC compliance: keep documentation, system configuration records, test scripts, and code repositories updated.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field and a minimum of 3-5 years of software engineering / development experience.
Experience And Skills:
Required:
- Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Hands-on software development experience (e.g., coding, scripting, and API development).
- Hands-on experience building agentic AI / GenAI solutions and integrating large language models (LLMs) and AI agents into applications and workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to capture business needs and translate them into technical solutions (user stories, process flows, and working code).
- Experience working in cross-functional, self-organized agile engineering teams.
- Strong skills in end-to-end business process mapping and curiosity about the big picture.
- Analytical approach and hands-on experience designing, developing, and managing APIs and integrations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgment.
- Passionate about staying up to date with current technology and software engineering trends and best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with business process orchestration tools (for example BPMN/Camunda).
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration tools and prompt engineering best practices.
- Proficiency in one or more modern development frameworks.
- Experience in project management for complex system setups and platform rollouts.
- Experience in life sciences, regulated industries, or knowledge of cell and gene therapy concepts.
