The Opportunity

We have an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity available in Perth, WA for a Clinical Specialist to join our Orthopaedic Trauma & Craniomaxillofacial team. Commencing as soon as possible, this role will see you providing hands-on technical support in the operating theatre to our hospital-based customers, supporting the safe and effective use of our Orthopaedic Trauma and CMF product portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending surgical procedures and providing expert technical support to Orthopaedic and CMF surgeons, registrars and nursing staff on the correct and safe use of our products
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through regular clinical support in the perioperative environment, education and in-service training
  • Identifying opportunities to support business growth by sharing customer insights and leads with the Sales Team, and assisting with product demonstrations as required
  • Maintaining strong product and procedural knowledge through ongoing training, while driving clinical excellence and delivering a professional, high-quality customer experience

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in a health-related field such as Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science or Chiropractic is highly regarded, along with experience providing clinical support in-theatre during orthopaedic procedures
  • Confidence working effectively under pressure in an operating theatre environment, with the flexibility to work after-hours and participate in a rotating weekend on-call roster
  • Strong communication, presentation and customer service skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals
  • Highly organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.

This position requires regular travel to hospitals in Perth Metro and occasional travel to regional areas. All applicants must have rights to work in Australia, a reliable car and a valid Driver License.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
