Janssen Pharmaceutica NV is recruiting for a Pilot Plant Asset Engineer in Geel/Beerse, Belgium.

The Chemical Development Pilot Plants at the Geel and Beerse sites are crucial in driving forward the development of new medicines. Our primary goal is to ensure the safe, optimal, and competitive delivery of lifesaving medications to patients at all times. In addition to scaling up Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) from lab scale to commercial production, the pilot plants also play a significant role in supplying medicines necessary for vital clinical studies before a product launch. Key Responsibilities
As a Pilot Plant Asset Engineer, your primary objective is to facilitate breakthrough enhancements in the manufacturing process, focusing on the efficiency, productivity, and reliability of our equipment and systems. In pursuit of this goal, you will collaborate closely with the Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety and Maintenance departments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing reliability performance, taking appropriate actions to eliminate root causes and developing business cases for new projects.
  • Driving technological innovation within the domain of industry 4.0, such as implementing smart sensors to upgrade maintenance plans, and constructing online reliability dashboards, among others.
  • Engaging with local maintenance teams, providing support and fostering a culture of reliability among the technicians.
  • Leading root cause investigations for technical/operational issues that occur in the plant and defining preventive actions to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Taking the lead on executing reliability projects and initiatives, ensuring the development of standards throughout the equipment lifecycle using Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • A technical degree or equal to experience and a strong interest in all aspects of maintenance & reliability. Preferred fields of study are Engineering or Science.
  • An innovative drive to make the difference and achieve results. Combination of analytical and technical skills to understand and solve complex issues as well as derive related business needs.
  • Decisiveness, brainpower and drive to deal with various issues and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in application of different maintenance strategies.
  • Passionate about bringing innovative ideas, products and services to life, demonstrating strong project management and change management skills.
  • Through communicative and interpersonal skills manage to work together as a team player, contributing to an energetic work environment in all levels of the organization.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€72,500.00 - €115,230.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
