Position Summary
End responsible for IM Deliver Business environmental health and safety management within J&J Belgium sites Beerse and La Louvière. This role will manage the EH&S performance. This for the managing part from J&J and for La Louviere also the EH&S governance with 3PL contractor CEVA. Responsible for ensuring the local EH&S J&J operations are in compliance with federal, Walloon and local EH&S regulations, as well as Johnson & Johnson EH&S Standards.
Partner with different Deliver leadership teams of Beerse and La Louvière to establish and implement a business EH&S strategy and Management Action Plans (MAPs) in alignment with the innovative medicines Deliver imperatives.
He/she has strong Leadership skills to manager complex environment (warehousing, partnering with 3PL CEVA, partnering for hard/soft services with Sodexo - managed by E&PS) and management skills to lead teams in a matrix organization of stakeholders/partners and contractors (indirect internal reports (specific safety support and external environmental coordinator)).
The Deliver sites in Beerse and La Louvière have generic EH&S risks with main focus on warehouse safety and contractor safety. Strong interaction with Deliver Leadership Team, 3PL partner CEVA, Sodexo (E&PS), EHW and governmental officials is required. He/She will determine the IM Deliver Belgium strategy for EH&S and sustainability in line with local needs/risks.
In addition to the site-specific responsibilities, he/she is an active member of the extended leadership team of Deliver IM at the EMEA level. In this capacity, he/she brings high risks and critical attention points to the Deliver IM leadership, share key KPIs, trends, and EHS-related objectives, and contribute to strategic discussions that influence regional priorities and initiatives.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
30%:
Oversees the development, planning and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures within the organization. Ensures compliance with local government regulations pertaining to EH&S, and handles contact with appropriate agencies.
overall EH&S site management (EH&S tactics & scorecard review, set up and maintain stakeholder management, meetings,…) for Beerse and La Louvière.
10%:
Guide a skilled team of EH&S external support to deliver outstanding EH&S services to the deliver operations (e.g. machine safety, environmental coordination, support on large management of change projects). Provide adequate coaching/counseling to business partners, and the IOSS teams / prevention coordinators
30%:
EH&S representative for Deliver sites Beerse and La Louvière. (several meetings, presence on the diverse work floor to support program reviews, incidents, continuous improvement, official EH&S lead during audits, visits,…)
Develop site EH&S objectives - auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and effectiveness to management via dashboards & reports
10%:
As the EH&S representative for the Deliver EMEA IM organization;
Participate in regional Deliver IM leadership meetings, providing insights on high-risk areas, trends, and EHS performance.
Prepare and present KPIs, progress reports and key attention points to regional teams.
Share regional EHS objectives and strategies, supporting alignment with broader Deliver IM priorities.
Escalate high risks or critical issues to facilitate prompt decision-making.
10%:
Monitor and evaluate EH&S risks of operations (in agreement with Roles and Responsibilities contracted with CEVA and Sodexo), as well as change management, ensuring continuous improvement of the EH&S program to make it leaner and more efficient.
Manage continuous improvement and strategic plan of the Deliver departments in Beerse and La Louvière (Roles and responsibilities, resource/budget planning for EH&S programs).
10%:
Program owner and end responsible for Beerse and La Louvière sites EH&S procedure and effective deployment of legal and J&J requirements as per J&J EH&S standards. Ensure development and provide (or insource) required training specific for the business needs and responsible for the relevant program reviews.
Other Duties
Member of the Deliver Leadership Teams in Beerse and La Louvière. – strategic (LT management review) and tactical items to manage the Deliver businesses in Beerse and La Louvière.
Understand big changes on site and campus Belgium, manager intake and influence on EH&S resource to manage these changes
Member of Deliver CMT - BCP team
Lead of the Belgium IOSS team on PIV and warehouse and loading docs
Required Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: Prevention advisor level 2 (legal)
Other: Professional bachelor or equivalent
Required Years of Related Experience: 5 years of EH&S experience, experience running EH&S programs at a warehouse or logistics facilities. generic EH&S knowledge.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
French, Dutch and English: fluently
Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) experience with emphasis on generic holistic view, but understanding of managing warehouse, contractor and environmental risks in a 3PL warehouse environment.
Ability to define and implement solutions with limited direction from his/her manager.
Strong communication (written & verbal), problem-solving, influence, organizing, and time management skills.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence management.
Ability to provide support to multiple customers/business units.
Ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner.
Ability to produce & maintain project schedules & budgets.
Interfacing – associates & local, province & federal inspectors.
Experience is required in identifying, evaluating, and controlling EH&S risks in the workplace.
Ability to work in a matrix, team-oriented environment.
Ability to lead team of local EH&S professionals
Travel on the Job: 2 days working on site in Beerse & 2 days working on site in La Louvière
