Innovative Medicine Supply Chain is recruiting for a Director of Decision Science located in Raritan/Titusville in NJ or Horsham in PA.

The Director of Decision Science plays a key strategic role for digital transformation and innovation in Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC). The role is responsible for leading the IMSC Decision Science and driving holistic vision, strategy, roadmaps, capability development and deployment, model standards, process and governance, technical innovation, and talent development across IMSC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide both strategic and technical leadership to drive transformative impact and competitive advantage through Decision Science innovation.

  • Partner closely with business and digital leaders across IMSC functions, Business IT, IM R&D and Commercial for end-to-end collaboration.

  • Build a portfolio of decision-intelligence capabilities aligned with IM Supply Chain priorities.

  • Lead a team of >10 highly talented decision science managers, and data scientists with deep hands-on expertise in Optimization, Simulation/Digital Twin, Advanced Analytics, Decision Intelligence, AI/ML and strong business partnership skills.

  • Define the IMSC Decision Science vision, strategy and capability roadmaps aligned with business and digital strategy.

  • Partner with global business and digital leaders across all functions in IMSC (Value Chain Management, Plan, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Deliver, Advanced Therapy) to co-ideate, prioritize, and define the Decision Science portfolio of work that delivers transformative impact aligned with IMSC priorities.

  • Define and own the Decision Science Hub Services that support IMSC functions to deliver value through a flexible partnership model tailored to the business needs.

  • Highlights insights on the latest Decision Science & AI trends in team discussions to improve data analytics solutions and team effectiveness.

  • Lead the Decision Science team to develop and deploy scalable digital products and capabilities in partnership with Business Product Owners and Technical Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers from J&J Technology.

  • Oversee the development of common model standards, library, interoperable Decision Science assets, E2E model management workflow, and model performance reviews to enable scalability, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Partner with Digital Strategy & Governance, JJT, and Data Management & Operations to establish technical governance processes to ensure adoption of standard and optimal models, technologies, and end-to-end architecture.

  • Partner with Digital Strategy & Governance, JJT, and Data Management to be purposeful on make vs buy approaches.

  • Stay current to the latest industry trends and best practices, drive technical innovation through forging strategic partnership with academia and industry innovators, guiding research and experimentation on the cutting-edge Decision Science & AI technologies.

  • Create future-ready and purposeful talent strategy to develop world-class data scientists and upskill broader IMSC workforce in Decision Intelligence & AI fluency. Provide coaching and mentorship & training to data science talent across IMSC and J&J.

  • Partner with Data Science & AI leaders in R&D, Commercial, JJT, and other functions across Innovative Medicine and J&J for end-to-end strategy and capability build, and cross-functional sharing and collaboration.

  • Represent J&J in industry and academic forums for thought leadership and talent attraction.

Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain , Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, AI, or Decision Science, preferably within pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, or another complex regulated industry.

  • 5+ years people leadership

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end pharmaceutical supply-chain processes.

  • Proven experience translating advanced analytics and AI into large-scale business outcomes.

  • Strong knowledge of optimization, forecasting, simulation, ML, AI and/or operations research.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to operate effectively across business and technology organizations.

  • Strong commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to connect technology investments to business value.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$164,000.00 - $282,900.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
