Sales Representative Trauma – Lisboa Region

We are seeking a high-potential Sales Representative Trauma to join DePuy Synthes in the Lisboa region, within Johnson & Johnson MedTech Orthopaedics.

Purpose of the role

The Sales Representative Trauma will manage and develop the Trauma business across the Lisboa region, combining commercial ownership, clinical credibility and disciplined territory execution. The role is accountable for strengthening strategic relationships with orthopaedic trauma surgeons, operating room teams, procurement stakeholders and key hospital accounts, while ensuring high-quality clinical support and appropriate use of DePuy Synthes solutions to improve patient outcomes.

What to expect:

  • Drive commercial performance: translate territory and account insights into clear commercial actions, identify growth opportunities, support tenders and execute account plans aligned with regional priorities.
  • Build strategic customer partnerships: develop trusted, long-term relationships with orthopaedic trauma surgeons, operating room teams, procurement stakeholders and key decision-makers across public and private hospitals in Lisboa.
  • Deliver clinical excellence in the OR: provide high-quality in-theatre support on the appropriate use of DePuy Synthes Trauma technologies, ensuring reliable case coverage, product availability and customer confidence.
  • Accelerate portfolio adoption: support customer education, product demonstrations, clinical discussions, professional education initiatives and local surgeon engagement activities.
  • Own the territory agenda: maintain accurate market intelligence, customer segmentation, competitive insights and account-level opportunities to support planning, prioritisation and sustainable market share growth.
  • Collaborate with discipline and integrity: work closely with regional colleagues, leadership, Medical Education and cross-functional partners, delivering objectives in full alignment with Credo values, HCC requirements and company compliance standards.
  • Operate with agility and accountability: respond effectively to urgent surgical needs while maintaining strong planning, follow-up, communication discipline and professional ownership in every customer interaction.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

We are looking for a commercially driven, resilient and customer-focused professional with the maturity to operate in demanding hospital environments, the credibility to engage senior clinical stakeholders and the ambition to build a long-term career in orthopaedics.

The ideal candidate demonstrates customer credibility, relationship-building capability, disciplined execution, strong learning agility and the potential to grow within the Trauma business.

  • Core requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Business, Marketing or a related area; fluent Portuguese and good English communication skills; valid driving license and availability to travel within the Lisboa region.
  • Preferred experience: previous commercial sales experience, ideally in healthcare, medical devices, pharma, hospital sales, surgical environments or a technical B2B setting.
  • Clinical learning agility: ability to understand surgical procedures, clinical needs and product benefits, with willingness to develop deep Trauma portfolio knowledge.
  • Commercial behaviors: strong communication, listening, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with high ownership, planning discipline, resilience and ability to work independently in a fast-paced territory.
  • Business mindset: analytical thinking, results orientation and capacity to translate account insights into focused commercial actions.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€27,000.00 - €43,700.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
