The JJMT Transformation function is responsible for designing and realizing the future-state supply chain network for Johnson & Johnson MedTech. This function includes oversight of consolidation and rationalization actions for the global distribution network, a strategic shift toward an asset-light model, and the build-out of new, future-looking logistics capabilities including partner management, network design, systems strategy, and defining the transition standards required to sustain performance in the future state. The team operates centrally, working in close partnership with regional Deliver teams across EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and North America.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

As part of the Logistics Partner Management function within Transformation, this role leads the definition and deployment of the 3PL engagement model and ensures alignment of partner operations with J&J standards and expectations.

The position is responsible for establishing how J&J engages with 3PL partners across the network, including governance structures, communication cadences, and alignment on operational standards, performance expectations, and continuous improvement priorities. This includes ensuring that 3PL partners understand and adopt defined standards, and that engagement mechanisms enable transparency, accountability, and consistent execution across regions.

The role works closely with regional teams, Procurement, Performance Management, and Business Architecture to ensure that partner engagement is structured, scalable, and aligned with the asset-light operating model and transformation objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions)

  • Define and maintain the global 3PL engagement model, including governance structures, interaction protocols, and roles and responsibilities across J&J and partner organizations

  • Establish standard engagement cadences (e.g., operational reviews, performance reviews, governance forums), ensuring consistency across regions and partners

  • Drive alignment between 3PL partners and J&J standards, including operational expectations, process adherence, and performance requirements

  • Serve as a central point of coordination for partner-related topics, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across regions and functions

  • Partner with Procurement and Legal teams to ensure engagement models are aligned with contractual frameworks and commercial agreements

  • Support onboarding of new 3PL partners, ensuring clarity on expectations, standards, and governance processes

  • Collaborate with 3PL Performance Management teams to ensure alignment between engagement practices, performance tracking, and improvement initiatives

  • Work with Warehouse Standards and Business Architecture teams to ensure operational standards are clearly communicated and adopted by partners

  • Identify and address gaps in partner engagement, including misalignment on expectations, communication breakdowns, or governance inefficiencies

  • Drive continuous improvement of partner engagement practices, incorporating feedback from regions and lessons learned from deployments

  • Support resolution of escalated partner issues by facilitating alignment between J&J stakeholders and 3PL partners

  • Provide visibility to Transformation leadership on partner engagement effectiveness, risks, and improvement opportunities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Education and/or additional training:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required

  • A Master's degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field is preferred

Experience and functional competencies:

  • Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or 3PL partner management

  • Strong understanding of 3PL operating models, including warehouse and transportation operations within outsourced environments

  • Experience working with external partners or suppliers, including managing relationships, governance structures, and performance expectations

  • Experience defining or implementing engagement models, governance frameworks, or operating structures across multiple regions or partners

  • Familiarity with contractual frameworks (SLAs, KPIs, service agreements) and ability to align operational practices with contractual expectations

  • Ability to work in a global, matrix organization: strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (Operations, Procurement, IT, Finance) to align on partner-related topics

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to identify root causes of misalignment and drive resolution across stakeholders

  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or outsourcing initiatives is preferred
