EMEA Central SC Plan Sr Manager (PG31)

Role Purpose & Scope

As the senior leader of the Central EMEA Planning organization, this role is accountable for defining and executing the regional planning strategy, driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, and ensuring alignment between commercial objectives, supply chain performance, and financial outcomes across a complex and highly matrixed environment. The role serves as a critical member of the EMEA Supply Chain leadership team and acts as the primary regional interface with global planning, commercial, and operational stakeholders.

The EMEA Central SC Plan Sr Manager leads the Central EMEA Planning organization and is accountable for regional planning performance across Demand Planning, IBP, Inventory Management, Replenishment, and Service Management.

This role provides strategic leadership to a team of planning managers and senior planners, ensuring alignment between regional, country, and global stakeholders while delivering business objectives related to forecast accuracy, customer service, inventory optimization, and financial performance.

The Sr Manager establishes planning governance, drives operating model excellence, sponsors digital transformation initiatives, and serves as the primary EMEA planning representative in global decision-making forums.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Business Leadership

Demand Planning & Portfolio Strategy

  • Define and execute the regional planning vision and target operating model.

  • Establish multi-year planning capability roadmaps and transformation priorities.

  • Drive strategic leadership of New Product Introductions (NPI), Lifecycle Management (LCM), and portfolio optimization initiatives.

  • Align regional demand strategies with global business objectives and portfolio priorities.

  • Influence global portfolio, network, inventory, and capacity decisions through data-driven business cases.

  • Integrate launch, lifecycle, and exit strategies with Commercial, Marketing, and Global Supply organizations.

Business Performance Management

  • Partner with Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure delivery of revenue, profitability, service, and cash flow objectives.

  • Monitor and close gaps between business plans, demand forecasts, and financial commitments.

  • Lead strategic reviews of risks, opportunities, and performance drivers across the region.

  • Ensure planning decisions balance growth, service, inventory, and financial outcomes.

2. Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Leadership

IBP Governance & Executive Alignment

  • Own IBP governance and maturity across Central EMEA.

  • Lead strategic review of consolidated demand signals, forecasts, assumptions, and business risks.

  • Ensure alignment between local, regional, and global planning processes.

  • Govern demand reconciliation activities and escalation pathways.

  • Maintain explicit linkage between operational plans and financial objectives.

Executive Decision Support

  • Chair regional and cluster Demand Reviews as required.

  • Drive resolution of demand, supply, inventory, and financial gaps.

  • Escalate structural risks and business trade-offs to senior leadership.

  • Provide scenario analysis and decision support to executive stakeholders.

3. Inventory & Service Excellence

Inventory Strategy & Governance

  • Define and lead regional inventory strategy in alignment with business unit objectives and global targets.

  • Establish governance for entitlement policies, safety stock methodologies, inventory segmentation, and replenishment parameters.

  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives to improve cash flow, inventory turns, and working capital performance.

  • Lead SLOB reduction strategies and long-term inventory health programs.

  • Govern inventory trade-off decisions balancing customer service, cost, and financial objectives.

Customer Service & Supply Continuity

  • Define and lead regional service management and escalation strategies.

  • Ensure continuity of supply and adherence to customer service commitments.

  • Govern Strategic Event Management (STEM) and Supply Feedback Loop (SFL) processes.

  • Lead resolution of significant supply constraints, demand surges, and business continuity risks.

  • Establish enterprise playbooks for crisis management, allocation governance, and service recovery.

Customer Allocation & Prioritization

  • Partner with Commercial and Marketing organizations to define allocation strategies.

  • Drive decision-making regarding customer prioritization during constrained supply situations.

  • Ensure transparent communication of risks, mitigation plans, and recovery timelines.

  • Embed lessons learned and preventive actions into regional planning processes.

4. Analytics, Digital Transformation & Continuous Improvement

Planning Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement of planning processes, standards, and governance frameworks.

  • Improve forecast accuracy, bias performance, inventory outcomes, and service metrics.

  • Advance regional IBP maturity through standardized planning practices.

  • Develop and implement best practices across countries, clusters, and platforms.

Analytics & Technology Leadership

  • Sponsor the regional analytics and digital transformation roadmap.

  • Drive adoption of advanced forecasting methodologies, scenario modelling, and digital planning capabilities.

  • Establish data governance standards and planning performance dashboards.

  • Promote intelligent automation solutions to increase efficiency and scalability.

  • Oversee value realization from planning transformation investments.

5. Organizational Leadership

People Leadership

  • Lead a team of planning managers and senior planners across the region.

  • Build organizational capability through talent development, coaching, succession planning, and workforce planning.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, continuous improvement, and innovation.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top planning talent.

  • Ensure organizational capabilities evolve to meet future business and planning requirements.

Resource & Budget Management

  • Own planning functional goals, resource allocation, and capacity management.

  • Ensure organizational priorities are supported with appropriate capabilities and resources.

  • Optimize allocation of planning resources across region, cluster, and country portfolios.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Master's Degree

Preferred

  • MBA

Experience

  • Significant experience in Supply Chain Planning leadership.

  • Experience within Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or regulated industries preferred.

  • Demonstrated success leading regional or global planning organizations.

  • Experience influencing senior executives and driving organizational transformation.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€96,000.00 - €165,025.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
