Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine’s Patient Engagement and Customer Solutions (PECS) team is recruiting for an Associate Director, Northeast for the Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) team, which will be a field-based position. The Northeast region includes New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; and Providence, RI.

Job Description

The Associate Director is accountable for effectively leading, developing, and directly managing a team of FRM who have access & fulfillment related responsibilities across Neuroscience healthcare provider accounts and executing on the PECS FRM strategy. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as well as working in the field with minimal supervision. The Associate Director is focused on ensuring healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers are enabled with the information, tools and resources needed to ensure patient ability to start and stay on therapy.

They will also foster communication across multiple JJIM departments including Patient Access, Pharmacy Access, Medical, Market Access, Brand Marketing, and Field Sales.

As the Associate Director, the ideal candidate will:

  • Lead, motivate, coach, develop, and retain a diverse and talented team who are competent and skilled in the JJIM Neuroscience business, the healthcare marketplace, and in access & fulfillment
  • Proven ability building trust, engagement, and team commitment toward a shared vision
  • Be responsible for leading their regionally aligned team of up to 10 direct reports to maximize access & fulfillment related impact for JJIM prescribed patients starting or staying on therapy.
  • Develop both long and short-term strategic planning for the team and manage seamless team execution of related tactics in a fast-paced environment
  • Pull-through district vision, create team culture, drive accountability, manage FRM performance, forge valuable customer relationships, and achieve the team’s overall goals
  • Coach and develop FRMs to leverage data insights and account management competencies to proactively address access barriers
  • Demonstrate core competencies and support team members in identifying, understanding, and addressing access & fulfillment related patient obstacles including knowledge of Buy & Bill, Medical Benefit and Assignment of Benefit (AOB), specialty pharmacy, and pharmacy benefit
  • Effectively build strong, trust-based relationships and collaborate with partners (e.g., Sales District Managers, SCG, Franchise Marketing, Brand, etc.) and work in the field with minimal supervision
  • Manage and allocate budget in alignment with team objectives.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

All responsibilities of the Field Director will be carried out with strict adherence to the JJIM Credo and HCC Guidelines, in line with the FRM Rules of Engagement.

The Associate Director reports to the Field Director, Field Access & Affordability Solutions (FAAS) within the PECS organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. MBA or other related graduate level degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years healthcare business related experience required. A concentration in biopharmaceutical market access, field reimbursement or managed markets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of account management, managed care, and reimbursement principles including pharmacy and medical benefit/buy & bill benefit design, coding, billing, prior authorization, office operations, and appeals processes
  • 3+ years of direct people management
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and performance success in prior roles
  • A valid Driver's License in one of the 50 United States
  • Reside within the geography or be willing to relocate to it

Preferred Qualifications

  • Neuroscience disease state experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree/relevant certifications preferred
  • Proven ability to navigate high profile, complex business circumstances
  • Experience developing and executing customer-oriented strategies
  • Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally in a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Experience in the Neuroscience therapeutic market
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI, through exploration, iteration, and apply new tools over time preferred
  • Experience building team AI literacy and confidence, reinforcing trusted and responsible AI use and sound judgement preferred

This role involves travel up to 75 % of the time. Final territory boundaries may adjust prior to hire or during employment to optimize coverage and team alignment

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
