Position Overview

This position supports the J&J Surgical Vision operations located in Añasco, Puerto Rico reporting to the Site Controller, serving as the Finance Partner from a cost analysis and finance control standpoint providing accurate, timely, and relevant financial analysis. Participates in business planning, and Forecasting. Apply financial and general business expertise to provide analysis and leadership in cost accounting & financial reporting, including validation of projected and realized cost savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead standard cost setting and maintain product costs, labor standards, rates, routings, and manufacturing assumptions.
  • Analyze cost per unit and key production variances against standard, budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Support financial close for inventory, production costs, manufacturing variances, and assigned accounts, including entries, reconciliations, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Develop cost, volume, absorption, freight, material-price, and productivity assumptions for forecasts and business plans.
  • Identify costing, master-data, valuation, and control issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Provide financial oversight for process-improvement initiatives by validating project costs, recurring benefits, offsets, and realized savings against operational and financial evidence, while improving costing models, reporting, controls, and data quality.
  • Partner across the site to provide actionable costing insights, strengthen cost visibility and financial efficiency, promptly communicate material risks and opportunities, and support ad hoc financial analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing-finance experience.
  • Solid understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing variances, cost-per-unit analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial-modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and business-partnering capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver accurate analysis under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent certification or advanced degree.
  • SAP or comparable ERP experience, including product costing and manufacturing transactions.
  • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience validating continuous improvement savings and supporting product or manufacturing changes.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$62,000-$101,200

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program. Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: Vacation –120 hours per calendar year Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child Condolence Leave – 30 days for an immediate family
