The program
From orthopedic surgery to microwave ablation, breakthrough thinking is powering the launch of life-changing MedTech technologies worldwide. The Johnson & Johnson MedTech Marketing Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is designed to nurture high-potential MBA graduates to become global marketing leaders in medical device technology.

The opportunity
Summer program (10-12 weeks, May-August)
- Internship designed to promote learning, networking and career development
- Placement on a critical business project in one of our multiple franchises within the marketing organization
- High-performing summer interns are given priority for the full-time program upon graduation
Full-time program
- A two-year program consisting of two one-year rotations—downstream and upstream—with challenging assignments, advanced training, personal coaching and unique placement opportunities within U.S. MedTech marketing and global strategic marketing
- Gain experience in key marketing functions, define brand and product strategies and collaborate with cross-functional leaders daily
- Locations: Ethicon Inc. (Raritan, NJ and Cincinnati, OH); DePuy Synthes Companies (Warsaw, IN, Raynham, MA, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and West Chester, PA); Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions (CSS) Group (Irvine, CA); Johnson & Johnson Vision (Jacksonville, FL)

Two MLDP rotations
Downstream: U.S. marketing
- Responsible for leading and executing impactful product launches for the North America region, including promoting and educating on the product through customer-facing initiatives
- Connect with market needs through frequent interactions with customers—traveling with sales consultants, attending industry meetings, reviewing medical journals and similar
- Partner closely with sales teams to gather input on customer needs and ensure strong alignment with marketing strategies
- Align customer insights with product capabilities and messaging
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment between demand and supply
Upstream: Global strategic marketing
- Responsible for leading worldwide product launches and developing marketing materials, pricing strategies, promotional plans, training plans and forecasts
- Contribute to the development of global brand strategies for products, services and programs, including value propositions, segmentation, positioning, lifecycle management and similar
- Partner with R&D to lead project core team on new product development from product conception to launch
- Build collaborative relationships with surgeon customers and key vendors to identify unmet portfolio and customer needs for assigned product categories

The MLDP provides top MBA candidates the opportunity to be leaders in the shift from medical devices to MedTech, offering unique opportunities to leverage your business training and diverse experiences to make an immediate impact. As an MLDP, you will be responsible for:
- Dealing with strategic business issues with significant exposure to business leaders and cross-functional areas globally
- Demonstrating in-depth understanding of critical issues, decision-making, and project management skills
- Leveraging strong problem solving, organizational, communication and analytical skills
- Driving innovation and collaborating across a matrixed organization
- Upon successful completion of the MLDP, participants graduate into a full-time marketing manager position

Who we’re looking for
In order to be eligible for an opportunity within the Marketing Leadership Development Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of three years post-undergraduate professional work experience required (with 4+ years preferred)
- U.S. work authorization without the need for sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future (students currently in the country on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT require future sponsorship for long-term employment)
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, project management, communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity in both strategic and tactical matters
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience in healthcare and/or Medtech, marketing, product management, market research, sales, business development or a related field preferred
- Demonstrated cycles of success in a professional business environments
