The program

Accelerate your leadership and professional skills as you help impact the future of health with J&J’s Procurement Leadership Development Program (PLDP). Starting within one of our operating companies or at our world headquarters, you could work within supply chain procurement, commercial procurement, R&D procurement, business and corporate services procurement or global services. After a year, you’ll rotate to one of these areas where you’ll complete challenging projects that make meaningful impact across several strategic business initiatives.

The opportunity

  • A three-year, full-time rotational program designed to fill our pipeline of future leaders based on a model of education, experience and exposure
  • An integrated curriculum that includes functional and leadership training, senior leader mentorship, formal leadership assessment and mentoring, as well as numerous networking opportunities
  • Culminates in a year-long “capstone” project in support of a key business challenge or strategy specific to the procurement function
  • Partner with the category teams and category leaders in developing and implementing strategies to drive value from the supplier base
  • Conduct in-depth research on existing and emerging trends, identify new technology/solutions, screen potential suppliers and perform complex analytical studies
  • Manage relationships and negotiations with key suppliers
  • Provide internal consulting services to adjacent functions such as marketing, R&D, operations, logistics, legal and corporate services

Are you ready to make a difference?

As a PLDP participant, you’ll have extensive access to senior leadership at Johnson & Johnson, including your own senior-level mentor who can provide valuable insight and counsel throughout the experience. You’ll fine-tune your leadership skills by preparing and delivering presentations, participating in immersion events and summits, networking—and so much more.

The PLDP internship program

The PLDP Internship Program is a 10- to 12-week internship with Johnson & Johnson’s procurement team in which you’ll take on an individual project challenge or solve a critical business need. You’ll also get to take part in immersion events, attend leadership speaker series, tour manufacturing plants and more.
