We are searching for the best talent for Surgery Government Affair Specialist to be in Colombia.

Purpose:

Established and productive individual contributor, who works under moderate supervision. Helps establish and implement Government Affairs policies and government relations strategies that aim to improve the regulatory and economic environment in which the organization operates. Guides corporate communications and community engagement with governing agencies, trade associations, and industry coalitions under general supervision. Builds a comprehensive knowledge of regulations and legislations that affect organizational objectives.

You will be responsible for:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of the current regulatory environment and political landscape in order to offer feedback to commercial decisions and innovation strategies that enhance organizational growth and visibility.
  • Delivers advocacy strategies that encompass corporate goals and policy position by utilizing key metrics, project management tools, and impact analyses.
  • Completes business impact assessments based on forecasted changes within the regulatory environment to support the development of modification strategies.
  • Executes processes to mitigate regulatory risk and ensure the accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of compliance-based processes and operations under general supervision.
  • Serves as a resource on government affairs and policy issues and identifies opportunities to improve policy initiatives in support of business objectives.
  • Identifies prospects for engagement with industry coalitions and advocacy groups and helps with dissemination of information regarding the organization’s policy agenda.
  • Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

Qualifications / Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Essential - Undergraduate qualifications in public policy, political science, economics or law.

  • Desirable – Postgraduate qualifications in public policy, political science or business

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES, AND AFFILIATIONS

  • Advocacy lobbying experience / expertise at both state and federal levels.
  • Understanding of regulated industries and government regulatory processes.
  • Understanding of the Northern Cluster political systems.
  • Experience and understanding of the public policy formulation process.
