Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, T&E, located in Bogotá Distrito Capital, Colombia
The Manager, Travel & Expense (T&E) plays a critical role in ensuring compliant, efficient, and user‑friendly travel and expense processes across the organization. This role leads regional T&E operations, partners closely with Finance and cross‑functional stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement to enhance employee experience while maintaining strong financial controls. This is an opportunity to influence operational excellence, strengthen governance, and support business growth in a dynamic, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage regional Travel & Expense (T&E) operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls, and local regulatory requirements.
Oversee end‑to‑end T&E processes, including expense reporting, auditing, reimbursement, and issue resolution.
Partner with Finance, Audit, Compliance, HR, and business leaders to ensure consistent application of T&E policies and timely resolution of escalations.
Monitor T&E spend, analyze trends, and provide insights and recommendations to improve cost management and policy adherence.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process simplification, automation, and system enhancements.
Manage vendor relationships and support the implementation or optimization of T&E tools and platforms.
Lead, coach, and develop team members to build capability, engagement, and strong service delivery.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).
Experience and Skills
Required:
Typically 6–8 years of progressive experience in travel & expense, finance operations, shared services, or a related function.
Strong knowledge of internal controls, compliance requirements, and financial governance.
Demonstrated people leadership or team‑management experience.
Experience analyzing spend data and translating insights into actionable improvements.
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred:
Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment.
Familiarity with T&E systems and tools (e.g., expense management platforms).
Experience supporting audits or regulatory reviews related to expense management.
Change management or process transformation experience.
Experience within healthcare, medical devices, or other highly regulated industries.
Proven experience managing or leading T&E processes in a complex, matrixed organization.
Other
Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
Travel: Up to 10–15%, primarily regional.
Certifications: Finance or accounting certifications (preferred, not required).
