Job Description Experienced Data & Systems Engineer
The Research & Development group of J&J Innovative Medicine discovers and develops innovative medical solutions to address important unmet medical needs in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, infectious diseases, cardiovascular and pulmonary hypertension.
The Advanced Therapies Pilot Plant (ATP) in Leiden produces clinical trial material for advanced therapies, a novel class of medical products that uses cell and gene therapies to treat diseases and have the potential to cure diseases when no treatment is available. It's a very exciting field, as no established manufacturing platforms exist for these products, which means that new processes need to be developed to ensure efficient production of high-quality GMP material!
The ATP is a very active pilot plant, with 3 full GMP productions streets, making 5 different product types, and a 4th street with a Drug product fill line being created - making it a true end-to-end pilot plant! The ATP teams also work in close collaboration with the process development teams to enable the fast delivery of the products for clinical trials.
We are recruiting an experienced data & systems engineer to join our data and systems team. We are seeking a highly motivated and engaged individual who will be highly involved in the operation and management of the data and systems related to GMP production.
Key Responsibilities:
Bring the process from the lab to the pilot plant as part of a team by
- Leading the design, development and maintenance of robust and efficient data systems that support our organization's operations, specifically focused on the building, validation and operation of electronic batch records used for GMP production
- Close collaboration with operators, scientists, engineers, and software engineers to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility, both during and after batch execution. This can also involve overseeing the implementation of data historians and dashboards.
- Coaching more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education:
BSc, MBO (level 4) or HBO degree, or equivalent in the field of Microbiology/Life Sciences/Engineering
Experience working in the Pharma/biotech industry experience is a plus.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimally basic degree in Science, Engineering and Technical subjects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent computer proficiency e.g. MS Office, SAP, Tulip, OsiPi, Opstrakker, etc.
- Good understanding of computer programming principles and low-code software system usage, as well as validation of such systems for GMP use.
- Excellent analytical skill to identify gaps and root causes of issues and think out of the box to develop a solution.
