Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Technical Product Manager, Screening, Profiling & Inventory to join the Therapeutics Discovery Information Technology organization. This role will be located in the United States (Spring House, PA) or in EMEA (Beerse, Belgium).

This role provides technology leadership for a critical scientific domain that enables discovery researchers to evaluate molecules, generate biological insights, and manage the materials, workflows, and data that support research decision-making across Therapeutics Discovery.
The successful candidate will partner closely with scientific stakeholders, technology teams, data teams, and external vendors to define product strategy, shape technology roadmaps, and deliver solutions that advance molecular screening, profiling, and compound logistics capabilities. These capabilities play a foundational role in enabling the Design-Make-Test-Analyze (DMTA) cycle that drives modern therapeutic discovery.
As scientific approaches continue to evolve through increasing automation, digitalization, data-driven decision making, and emerging technologies, this role will help modernize the technology landscape supporting these capabilities. The Technical Product Manager serves as a trusted partner at the intersection of science and technology, helping researchers take advantage of evolving technology capabilities while ensuring technology investments remain aligned to scientific priorities and business outcomes.
Success in this role requires the ability to understand complex scientific challenges, navigate a multidisciplinary technology organization, and build strong partnerships across domains. Candidates may bring either a scientific or technical background but must demonstrate the ability to communicate with credibility in both environments, translate scientific needs into technology strategies and product priorities, and drive solutions that deliver meaningful business value.
This position offers the opportunity to shape the future direction of foundational scientific capabilities within Therapeutics Discovery while helping researchers leverage advances in automation, data, digital technologies, and emerging approaches that accelerate discovery and improve decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Technology Leadership
Define and evolve the technology strategy supporting molecular screening, profiling, and compound logistics capabilities.
Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned to scientific priorities, business objectives, and enterprise technology strategy.
Identify opportunities to modernize scientific workflows through automation, digital technologies, data capabilities, and emerging technology approaches.
Evaluate new technologies, commercial solutions, and vendor offerings to improve researcher productivity, scientific effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Establish investment priorities and balance short-term delivery needs with long-term sustainability, scalability, and business value.
Contribute to the evolution of technology capabilities supporting the broader Design-Make-Test-Analyze (DMTA) cycle.
Scientific Partnership and Business Engagement
Build strong partnerships with scientists, operational leaders, and business stakeholders across Therapeutics Discovery.
Translate scientific needs, business objectives, and operational requirements into actionable technology strategies, product priorities, and delivery plans.
Facilitate discussions that drive alignment, informed decision-making, and shared ownership across scientific and technology organizations.
Communicate technology opportunities, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to diverse stakeholder groups.
Product Delivery and Value Realization
Lead delivery of technology initiatives supporting the product domain.
Define desired business outcomes, success measures, and value realization objectives for product investments.
Partner with software development teams, architects, engineers, data teams, and vendors to deliver solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
Support planning, prioritization, risk management, stakeholder communication, and organizational adoption activities.
Monitor product performance, adoption, and stakeholder satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure delivered capabilities create measurable value for researchers and business stakeholders.
Process and Capability Modernization
Assess current-state scientific and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automation.
Support the design of future-state workflows, capabilities, and operating models that improve user experience and business outcomes.
Promote effective use of automation, digital technologies, data, and advanced analytics to strengthen scientific decision-making and productivity.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve information flows, and reduce operational inefficiencies.
Champion continuous improvement across products, processes, and ways of working.
Vendor and Partner Management
Collaborate with external vendors and strategic partners to deliver technology capabilities and services.
Support vendor evaluation, selection, contracting, planning, and performance management activities.
Ensure vendors and partners deliver against agreed objectives, timelines, and business outcomes.
Foster productive relationships between internal stakeholders and external solution providers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Product Management, Scientific Informatics, Business Analysis, Technology Delivery, Consulting, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated experience partnering with scientific and technology stakeholders to define priorities, requirements, and technology solutions.
Experience developing product strategies, technology roadmaps, business cases, or investment recommendations.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving business and technology teams.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at the intersection of science and technology, translating scientific and business needs into actionable technology strategies and solutions.
Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
Proven ability to influence decisions and drive outcomes in complex organizational environments.
Experience working with software platforms, data, digital technologies, scientific applications, or technology-enabled business processes.
Experience using AI tools and digital assistants to accelerate analysis, decision-making, content development, and productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in a scientific, technology, or business-related discipline.
Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, research, or scientific organizations.
Experience supporting molecular screening, profiling, inventory management/ logistics, laboratory operations, or related discovery research capabilities.
Experience working with laboratory, automation, scientific data, digital, or informatics platforms.
Experience managing product portfolios, technology investments, or strategic technology programs.
Familiarity with Agile, product-oriented, or hybrid technology delivery approaches.
Experience managing external vendors, software providers, or strategic partners.
