DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Medical Affairs Sr. Manager, located in Pomezia, Italy.
The Country Medical Lead is a member of the Country DPS Board, functioning as a strategic collaborator, bringing surgical insights, knowledge of local healthcare ecosystems, policy, trends and guidelines to inform and support shaping the commercial strategy, maximizing opportunities DPS Country business.
This role provides critical input into the global innovation agenda through gaining and assimilating customer insights to define key unmet needs, and through early, pro-active identification and assessment of evidence needs to address key stakeholder needs within the country for market registration, access & adoption.
The Country Scientific lead reports to the DS MA Lead International with a dotted line to the Country Depuy Synthes Managing Director.
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities
Supports Country business leaders by
Understanding needs of the different clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in the healthcare environment and building strong relationships externally with key stakeholders (Strategic Accounts, Hospital Groups, Regulatory Agencies, Medical Societies, etc.) to drive business initiatives
building strong relationships and partnerships with customers, especially focused on the development of Key Opinion Leaders.
anticipating, evaluating and responding to competitive activity
seeking and establishing strategic partnerships to help drive core business areas
Ensures that the evidence supporting Depuy Synthes products and services is appropriate and sufficient for the Country market (ie for regulatory approval/clearance, health technology assessment, reimbursement, customer access, technology and service adoption, OBCs, medical safety and post‐marketing support) and is communicated well.
Acts as a contributor (where appropriate) and reviewer/approver of medical, scientific, promotional, market access and other informational material for country/region consumption.
Shapes the innovation agenda by:
anticipating healthcare trends, policy and the evolving healthcare ecosystem
collaborating with the Global Franchise Medical affairs teams by providing critical input into the Global innovation agenda through gaining and assimilating customer insights to define key unmet needs
providing input to the evidence generation strategy through early, pro-active identification and assessment of evidence needs to address key stakeholders needs within the country for market registration, access and adoption
supporting in the execution of evidence plans, including case support, identification of evidence generation opportunities (e.g. data sharing agreements with early adoptors)
input to the evidence dissemination strategy, driving evidence implementation within the country by providing scientific and medical support of areas of surgical expertise to drive business initiatives incl. facilitating scientific and medical meetings
Required Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: MD/PhD required Other:
Required Years of Related Experience: 5‐10 years’ experience of one of the following activities is required: post graduate medical education (beyond initial licensure), fellowship or subspecialty surgical training, clinical practice; and/or with dedicated research, and/or industry experience in Medical/Clinical/R&D roles in a highly regulated, commercial pharma/medical device business.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Minimum Education: Additional advanced degrees are highly valued (e.g. MBA and/or PhD) Other: experience as practicing surgeon or within related roles in the medical device industry
Preferred Area of Study: Ortho/Trauma/General Surgery
Preferred Related Industry Experience (if applicable): Demonstrated expertise and success in country or regional Medical Affairs role(s) serving different clinical specialties or therapeutic areas is preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated success in medical education, including the oversight of training programs and their implementation; and clinical evidence generation, interpretation and publication are preferred
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. €81,900.00 - €135,700.00Benefits:
