POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst BUF Supply Chain will act as strategic finance partner to the EMEA Plan, Source and Supplier Engineering departments based in EMEA / Aachen. This position will ensure accurate financials, will lead planning and forecasting activities with the business in line with strategic priorities and will provide actionable financial insights through the development and delivery of performance reporting and analysis.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be part of the Heart Recovery Supply Chain and Operations organization and will partner closely with US counterparts, Global Services and business partners.
This role can be based in any EMEA location. However, the successful candidate will be expected to spend a minimum of one week per month onsite in Aachen, Germany
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and coordinate Opex, Capex and Inventory (Raw materials and Finished Goods incl. Reserves) annual budgeting process, forecast updates, latest thinking, and actual reporting with the business, in alignment with overall Supply Chain Finance planning calendar for a dedicated area in supply chain.
- Own cost center budget vs. actual analytics including P&L, capex and headcount with respective regional business leaders; this includes developing commentary with business input, providing council and influencing decision making and action planning to adhere to target commitments.
- Develop and deliver analytics and action plans with business partners for slow moving and obsolete inventories, identify root causes and influence remediation, incorporate impacts into budget, forecasts and long-term plans.
- Own PPV (purchase price variance) analysis: partner with procurement and operations to build analytics, define drivers, and implement corrective actions; reflect PPV impacts in budget, forecast and LT planning.
- Oversee physical inventory controls and ensure count integrity and timely resolution of variances in line with compliance requirements.
- Perform financial analysis of scrap drivers, recommend mitigation actions and track savings.
- Serve as Finance lead for change requests - support systemic process to execute new or changes to material master (primarily raw materials), assess financial impact and ensure appropriate controls.
- Manage GR/IR reconciliation and oversight: monitor GR/IR balances, coordinate investigations and ensure month‑end accuracy.
- Support the preparation and submission of Capital Appropriation Request (“CAR”) for the dedicated supply chain area, in line with JNJ policy
- Own SOX controls and ensure compliance with SOX and other internal policies and procedures
- Establish efficient interaction model with appropriate business partners, global services and other members of the supply chain team.
- Proactive partnering with business partners to ensure alignment of financial targets and identification of potential opportunities and risks
- Forging internal collaboration both within and outside of the wider Supply Chain Finance team to ensure high service delivery
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance Accounting or related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; high proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Adaptive preferred.
- Intellectual curiosity and confidence to operate autonomously, with minimal direct supervision is required.
- Prioritize and manage multiple deliverables and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
- Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to quickly adapt to use of new systems and tools are required.
- Excellent interpersonal, as well as both oral and written communication skills are required.
- German language skills would be considered an advantage
- Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.

Czech Republic - The anticipated base pay range for this position is Kč704,000.00 - Kč1,135,050.00
