THE OPPORTUNITY

This role leads the Medical Affairs strategy for the Haematology portfolio in ANZ, shaping plans that align to enterprise priorities and deliver meaningful impact for patients. This role is a key strategic partner across the organisation, turning scientific insights and external perspectives into actions that influence clinical practice, access and evidence generation.

You will also lead and develop a high-performing Medical Affairs team, drive effective engagement with healthcare stakeholders, and own the Medical Affairs strategy and execution while providing leadership with accountability for portfolio direction, a priority brand, team leadership, and cross-functional impact across the broader portfolio. This role will partner closely with the CAR-T team to ensure alignment on strategy and priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and execute the Medical Affairs strategy for the Haematology portfolio, aligned to business priorities and external insights.
  • Provide scientific and strategic leadership across cross-functional teams, influencing brand, access and evidence-generation decisions.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Medical Affairs team, building capability and ensuring consistent execution across the portfolio.
  • Own the end-to-end Medical Affairs strategy and execution for a designated priority brand while providing oversight across other brands.
  • Build trusted relationships with external experts and translate scientific insights into actionable strategies and evidence plans.
  • Guide evidence generation, scientific communication and medical education activities to support clinical practice and patient outcomes.
  • Ensure all Medical Affairs activities are delivered compliantly, ethically and with a strong focus on patient access and organisational integrity.

ABOUT YOU

  • Advanced degree in medicine, life sciences or related discipline (MD, PhD or equivalent preferred)
  • Significant experience in Medical Affairs or related function within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership and team development
  • Experience leading Medical Affairs strategy for a product or therapeutic area
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to influence across a matrix organisation
  • Deep understanding of healthcare systems, clinical practice and evidence generation
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities
