Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business System Operational Owner with a primary focus on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
In this role, you will be accountable for the end-to-end business ownership of MES, including strategy, governance, performance, and lifecycle management. You ensure the system:
- supports operational goals
- complies with regulatory requirements
- enhances productivity and efficiency across the organization
You act as the primary bridge and SPOC between operations and system teams, ensuring effective capture and prioritization of changes together with stakeholders to translate business needs into system solutions.
You combine a strong understanding of both business processes and system capabilities, enabling you to perform impact assessments and analysis of MES changes and drive continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring strong data governance, compliance, and system reliability (including BCP ownership).
Through cross-functional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and KPI-driven performance management, you ensure effective system utilization, high user satisfaction, and sustained operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the MES strategy, roadmap, and governance, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary liaison and SPOC between operations and system teams (IT, MES, vendors), ensuring strong stakeholder alignment and clear prioritization
- Oversee planning and prioritization of MBR releases in close collaboration with the MES Business Release Lead, and perform impact assessments & change control evaluations
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement projects, including business case development and delivery
- Ensure system compliance and quality in close collaboration with QA (incl. MBR compliance, inspections, data integrity)
- Own system performance and reliability, including KPI monitoring, issue resolution, and Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
- Own the MES governance framework, including procedures, data governance, user enablement, and change management
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a scientific/technical field (e.g., Engineering, Biochemistry, Pharmacy)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry (manufacturing, operations, quality, or IT)
- Hands-on experience with MES or similar enterprise systems
- Strong knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
- Proven project, stakeholder, and change management abilities in complex environments
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
