Purpose:
The Manager, Master Data Management (MDM) Operations is an operational leader responsible for delivering high-quality customer and vendor master data services that enable business performance across Johnson & Johnson. This role serves as a key stakeholder-facing partner to the MedTech and Innovative Medicine sectors in the Latin America and North America and ensures master data execution is aligned to business priorities.
This leader operates with a strong customer-first mindset, simplifying processes from an “outside-in” perspective to improve speed, accuracy, and transparency. Guided by our C.E.O. leadership behaviors — Compete, Execute, Optimize — this role drives value creation by elevating operational excellence, enabling data-driven decisions, and continuously improving how master data supports patients, customers, and teams.
This role is critical to enabling trusted, high-quality master data that powers business operations, compliance, and customer experience—directly supporting growth, efficiency, and value creation across sectors.
You will be responsible for:
1. Maintain Operational Excellence
- Adhere to relevant laws and regulations, and follow the guidelines outlined in the J&J Credo.
- Responsible for leading operational aspects of customer and vendor master data operations team, ensuring workflow, exceptional performance, and strict compliance with established timelines and budgets.
- Be the main contact person for internal team members, offering support and guidance on data operations.
- Create strategic and practical plans to accomplish the objectives of Master Data Operations and effectively communicate these plans to the internal team and relevant groups.
- Engage strategically with business partners, collaborating with them to deliver business initiatives.
- Lead regional/global programs that align with department strategies, including process improvements, value collection, metrics, and operational reviews.
- Implement and support tools and processes that improve data operations execution, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Lead and prioritize projects, ensuring effective communication with partners and internal team members, resource allocation, and resolution of resource constraints.
- Present complex data concepts to management, team members, and non-technical audiences, demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with the Master Data Operations leadership team to make data-driven decisions and implement business intelligence tools that enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure strict compliance with policies and procedures to achieve the organization's goals and objectives for the Master Data Operations service delivery area.
2. Talent Management
- Lead, develop, and retain talent through coaching, mentorship, and engagement. Provide direction, development planning, and performance feedback in accordance with J&J Career Management processes.
3. Stakeholder Partnership & Business Enablement
Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across MedTech and Innovative Medicine, aligning master data services to business needs.
Build strong, collaborative partnerships to influence outcomes and enable strategic initiatives.
Champion a customer-centric approach, improving the end-to-end experience and enabling timely, accurate data to support operations and growth.
Review metrics and performance on a routine basis.
4. Drive innovative solutions
- Generate innovative ideas and identify process improvements that align with global standards, driving continuous improvement and staying ahead of industry trends.
- Embrace new ideas, rapid change, and emerging technologies to revolutionize data operations and deliver world-class solutions.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education
- Candidates must have at least a university degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
Required
- 8-10 years of business experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a people leadership role.
- Minimum of 2 years of data or similar operational management experience in the context of large ERP platforms.
- Strong business and technical knowledge, with a deep understanding of all supply chain data elements, processes, and organizational support models.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, influence multiple partners, and establish common goals and objectives while delivering outstanding outcomes.
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead and influence teams, driving a culture of harmonization, process improvement, and value creation.
Preferred
- Experience in a shared services center of a multinational corporation is desirable.
- Familiarity with digital/intelligent automation capabilities.
