As a IMUAM Transformation Architect you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of finance within Innovative Medicine and make a direct impact on patient outcomes while driving operational excellence. The IMUAM Transformation Architect will play a key role in ensuring the strategic vision is successfully executed, in reshaping the finance function to deliver long-term, sustainable growth for the IM business, unlocking both financial and non-financial benefits.

The Senior Manager, UAM Transformation Architect provides senior leadership for translating business requirements, data insights, and emerging technology opportunities into scalable global User Access Management (UAM) capabilities. This role is accountable for collaborating across the global UAM teams and its business, IT, security, compliance, data, and operational partners to understand shared needs, align priorities, and shape practical solutions. The role defines requirements and roadmaps for new tools and automation, improves the quality, structure, and usability of UAM data, and leads the introduction and implementation of new technologies in close partnership with global UAM pillars. It requires strong global collaboration, business partnering, data-driven thinking, technology adoption leadership, governance ownership, and deep understanding of access risk, Segregation of Duties (SoD), compliance, and user access lifecycle management within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

You will be responsible for

  • Own and drive the global UAM technology and transformation road map in collaboration with global UAM pillars, regional teams, business partners, and enabling functions, ensuring it is directly informed by business requirements, data quality needs, process pain points, compliance expectations, operational priorities, and future-state capability objectives.

  • Lead structured business requirements discovery for IMUAM by facilitating collaborative workshops and working sessions with different business, IT and compliance representatives, and Global GRC CoE to identify shared needs, pain points, data dependencies, and improvement opportunities.

  • Translate global business requirements into technology-enabled UAM solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams, including requirements for SAP GRC enhancements, SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance, SAP Signavio, workflow automation, reporting dashboards, data quality controls, identity lifecycle integrations, and AI-enabled support concepts.

  • Own the assessment of UAM data dynamics across systems, processes, and lifecycle stages, including persona data, role data, user-to-role mapping, GRC master data, SoD and critical access data, mitigation control data, process metadata, and reporting data flows.

  • Establish data quality, completeness, ownership, and monitoring expectations for UAM to ensure role, persona, ruleset, control, and provisioning data remains reliable, traceable, audit-ready, and fit for operational decision-making.

  • Evaluate, introduce, and implement new technologies for the global UAM team through close collaboration with global UAM pillars, regional stakeholders, IT partners, compliance, and operations by assessing business value, compliance impact, data readiness, integration needs, user adoption requirements, implementation risks, and long-term supportability.

  • Define and build board level business cases, solution options, and adoption plans for new UAM tools, automation, analytics, dashboards, and process enhancements, ensuring clear expected value, feasibility, effort, cost, risk, dependencies, and success measures.

  • Partner with other global UAM pillars to embed new technologies into daily ways of working, building alignment across regions and functions through updated processes, playbooks, training materials, support models, governance checkpoints, feedback loops, and transition plans from project implementation to steady-state operations.

  • Establish data-driven KPIs, dashboards, automated health checks and management reporting to provide visibility into data quality, access risk trends, automation value, process adoption, control effectiveness, user experience, operational workload, and technology implementation outcomes.

  • Build technology and data capability for cross business functions and promote the awareness and value of user access management by creating collaborative learning forums, providing guidance, training, knowledge sharing, change support, and practical enablement so global and regional teams can confidently use new tools, interpret data, share best practices, and sustain improved ways of working.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or university-level qualification in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience in international companies, including significant experience in business requirements management, User Access Management, data management or analytics, digital transformation, SAP security, governance, risk, compliance, global team collaboration, or large-scale technology implementation programs.

  • Senior-level expertise in translating business, compliance, operational, and technology needs into clear requirements, solution concepts, roadmaps, and implementation plans in collaboration with global and regional teams.

  • Proven experience assessing process and data dynamics across complex system landscapes, identifying data dependencies, ownership gaps, quality issues, reporting needs, and opportunities for standardization or automation.

  • Advanced knowledge of SAP S/4HANA security concepts, SAP GRC Access Control, SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance, SoD analysis, critical access management, role and persona data, GRC master data, and access provisioning processes.

  • Experience introducing or implementing new technologies, automation, analytics, workflow solutions, reporting capabilities, or identity governance tools in a global business or IT environment.

  • Strong understanding of UAM data objects and data flows, including personas, roles, users, user-to-role mapping, organizational restrictions, single and cross system SoD rulesets, SoD results, critical access, mitigating controls, and reporting outputs.

  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements such as SOX, GxP, IT controls, data privacy, audit readiness, and regulated pharmaceutical operating environments.

  • Experience designing or improving data governance routines, data quality controls, process taxonomies, RACI models, playbooks, standards, and management reporting structures.

  • Ability to evaluate technology capabilities, develop business cases, define requirements, compare solution options, assess data readiness, manage risks and dependencies, influence investment decisions, and guide implementation of scalable digital solutions.

  • Strong strategic thinking, enterprise mindset, structured problem-solving, decision-making, and ambiguity management skills.

  • Strong program leadership, technology implementation, change adoption, planning, prioritization, roadmap management, dependency management, and execution oversight skills.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, align cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders, facilitate collaborative decision-making, and drive outcomes across business, IT, security, compliance, transformation, data, and operational teams.

  • Executive-level communication, facilitation, storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business needs, data insights, and technology opportunities into clear decision-ready recommendations.

  • Experience leading technology adoption, user enablement, training, feedback loops, and change management for global, virtual, cross-regional, and matrixed teams.

  • Excellent oral and written English skills.
