These elements must strengthen process capability, improve manufacturing robustness, enable technology and product transfers, and deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable performance across global manufacturing sites.

This leader will set clear expectations for how process engineering operates globally. Expectations include the consistent use of technical standards, engineering fundamentals, structured problem solving, process characterization, validation, risk management, lifecycle management, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making. A critical expectation is to harmonize skills, practices, tools, and ways of working across the global team. This will help ensure engineering talent is developed consistently, best practices are shared deliberately, and site execution is aligned to common expectations while still meeting local business needs.

The successful candidate will build a connected, high-performing global process engineering community. This leader will develop current and future technical leaders and align capability-building priorities with business strategy. The role also requires close partnership with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, MAKE Engineering, and other global stakeholders. The leader must work horizontally and vertically across the organization, influence senior stakeholders, create clarity across teams, and translate strategy into disciplined execution. This execution should improve quality, reliability, speed, cost, and long-term process sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and lead the global process engineering strategy, priorities, and technical roadmap across Jacksonville and Limerick to support business growth, quality, reliability, cost, sustainability, and manufacturing performance.
  • Harmonize process engineering skills, practices, standards, tools, and ways of working across the global team to improve consistency, scalability, knowledge sharing, and execution discipline.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing global engineering organization, including capability development, succession planning, technical career growth, and future leadership readiness.
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, Quality, MAKE Engineering, and global stakeholders to ensure engineering readiness, robust risk management, effective technology transfer, and successful delivery of strategic programs.
  • Lead disciplined engineering approaches, including structured problem solving, process characterization, validation, FMEA, troubleshooting, data analytics, and lifecycle management to strengthen process capability and robustness.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives that improve quality, reliability, speed, flexibility, and cost effectiveness across manufacturing processes and equipment platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, training, GMP expectations, and prompt identification, escalation, and correction of deviations or emerging process risks.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Development, R&D, or Quality required.
  • Minimum 8 years of people leadership experience required, including coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability building.
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategy, translate vision into executable plans, and lead cross-site or global technical teams in a matrixed environment required.
  • Proven experience standardizing engineering practices, building technical capability, and harmonizing skills, tools, and governance across teams or manufacturing sites required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GMP, regulated manufacturing, process and equipment validation, process characterization, FMEA, risk management, and disciplined engineering practices required.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, deliver measurable continuous improvement, influence senior stakeholders, and lead change across organizational boundaries required.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, decision-making, project leadership, and management skills required.
  • Medical device and/or pharmaceutical experience preferred; Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt and FPX or PMP certification also preferred.
  • May require up to 25% of domestic and international travel.
