The Global Trade Controls (GTC) organization, Technical Operations & Risk, part of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) family of companies, is recruiting a Senior Manager Global Trade Controls ("GTC"), Asia Pacific (APAC), located in Singapore or Korea.

The Senior Manager will drive regional implementation of the global Import & Export Controls strategy across the Innovative Medicine and Medical Technology segments. You will apply expertise and skills to provide regional guidance on global trade issues including, but not limited to, product classification, country of origin, duty optimization, customs valuation, export controls and sanctions, and risk. You will also collaborate with Regional Business Partners, the Law department, Health Care Compliance, Global Transportation and Global Trade Operations to enable processes, procedures and implement remediation plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead regional strategy to drive implementation and continuous improvement of the GTC program within APAC, focusing on implementation of Global Standards
Use knowledge and experience of trade regulations to advise internal and external stakeholders on emerging and existing APAC risks, regulations and audits
Use experience with data strategy and management to support Key Performance Indicators and Metrics for designated commercial and risk objectives within APAC
Oversee engagements with external consultants and contractors, as needed
Represent J&J in relevant trade organizations and provide supporting role in analyzing and commenting on any pending regulations, legislation, or trade agreements
Collaborate with trade cross-functional teams and J&J businesses to build trust, influence, empower self and others, practice diversity and inclusion, and make informed and timely decisions
Lead a group of trade professionals located in APAC countries
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in trade, customs, logistics, supply chain, compliance and/or transportation
Minimum of 10 years’ total experience with global trade compliance.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Demonstrated global trade specific regulatory knowledge with application to complex business environments
Experience working in a global, matrix environment with multiple business units and functions
Track record of successfully implementing trade compliance strategies at a regional level
Strong ability to lead remote and multi-cultural professionals, empower people and develop diverse teams
Prior experience working with regulatory agencies, industry peers and companies
Preferred:
Masters or Advanced Degree
Relevant Global Trade or Customs certification
Familiarity with global trade management systems such as SAP GTS, Integration Point, Amber Road or similar systems
Other:
Fluent in English
This position may require up to 25% of regional and/or international travel
