The Regional Head of Technology – Senior Director, MedTech Surgery Americas – consisting of US, Canada and LATAM – is a business strategist and product minded technology leader who partners closely with the regional MedTech leadership team to shape growth strategies, modernize platforms, and deliver differentiated digital and AI capabilities for customers and patients. This leader serves as the critical point of connection between business strategy and technology execution, developing technology as a competitive advantage for the region and business.
You will lead a business facing technology organization in the region, orchestrating the full breadth of JJT products, platforms, and services to maximize value, speed, and quality for the MedTech portfolio. You will engage deeply with senior business leaders (e.g., Company Group Chair/Regional Leadership Teams) to define priorities and deliver outcomes.
The Surgery business encompasses digital surgery/robotics platforms, OR integration, imaging and computer vision, field service digitization, supply continuity and instrument lifecycle analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Co‑create the regional technology strategy for Surgery in alignment with MedTech business goals; translate strategy into a prioritized multi‑year product and platform roadmap with clear value outcomes
Develop technology as a competitive advantage—accelerating innovation, simplification, and go‑to‑market agility across priority markets and franchises.
Serve as strategic technology partner to regional senior leaders; jointly identify opportunities, advise on the transformation and application of technology to unlock growth, efficiency, and superior customer/patient experience.
Provide accountable technology leadership for end-to-end BU outcomes, aligning strategy, platforms, and execution across the regional value chain.
Develop compliant technology through strong partnership with functions such as Cybersecurity, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Affairs etc.
Build a strong cross-region partnership to allow for leveraging technology efforts to accelerate digitalization of processes in region.
AI, Data & Digital
Operationalize AI/ML and GenAI (incl. responsible AI) across commercial, supply chain, service, and R&D-adjacent use cases—e.g., pricing/tender, sales aid, demand sensing, customer segmentation targeting and revenue growth analysis, digital assistance for HCP engagement, intelligent service, computer vision for quality, and workflow automation—grounded in robust data governance and security
Use the power of data and analytics to deliver actionable insights across countries and functions; champion interoperable data platforms, real-time telemetry from connected devices, and privacy‑by‑design practices
Product Management & Delivery
Drive a disciplined product management (HPT) approach to ideate, build, and scale high impact solutions; link roadmaps to clear OKRs and dependable delivery.
Own the business technology portfolio for the region—prioritization, funding, delivery, adoption, and benefits realization—leveraging global JJT product teams and platforms
Leadership & Talent
Lead and develop a high performing team of product, engineering, data, and delivery leaders; attract world‑class talent and foster an inclusive, learning‑oriented culture, promote retention of high performing team members and fostering continuous growth and development of the team.
Bring an entrepreneurial, externally networked mindset—curate outside in innovation and strategic partnerships with technology providers, governments and advisory boards to shape policies and deliver outcomes
Drive people leadership responsibilities as a leader of people leaders, coaching and supporting people managers to lead effectively and build an inclusive, highengagement culture within their own teams.
Financials & Governance
Develop and manage a fit for purpose regional technology budget, ensuring investment decisions align with value, risk, and compliance; continuously optimize run vs. change
Uphold quality, cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance expectations for MedTech software/services; partner with Quality/Regulatory, Legal, and Privacy on regional requirements.
Stakeholder & Market Impact
Ensure technology enables successful product launches and lifecycle management in the region, tailor solutions to local market dynamics and care pathways
Champion customer centric design with providers, payers, and health systems; translate HCP and patient needs into product requirements for platform and workflow innovation
Play a critical role in coordinating customers’ engagement in technology aspects (connectivity, cyber security, privacy, etc.) and in contributing to building tech capabilities / strengthen tech skills of the commercialization teams
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business). Master’s degree preferred.
12+ years in technology leadership with direct experience leading line‑of‑business, engineering, data operations, or product teams; 8+ years of people leadership operating at scale in matrixed environments
Demonstrated ability to apply technology to solve business problems with exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder partnership across senior levels.
Experience with business processes (bids & tenders, order to cash, customer engagement etc.) – and their interface with foundational technology platforms (ERP, CRM, MES etc.)
Proven track record in product management, agile delivery, and portfolio governance; ability to connect roadmaps to measurable outcomes
Fluency with cloud, APIs, data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML/GenAI; hands-on leadership implementing these capabilities beyond pilot stages
Experience modernizing legacy environments while introducing new digital and AI‑enabled solutions safely and compliantly.
Proven collaborator with demonstrated ability to influence decisions across a complex, matrixed organization to drive alignment, deliver scalable solutions, and advance strategic priorities to support business/regional needs.
Preferred
MedTech Surgery domain exposure (e.g., digital surgery and robotics, imaging/computer vision, connected capital equipment).
Demonstrated experience working with clinical, commercial, and supply chain stakeholders across multi‑country regional footprints.
Demonstrated success hiring and developing outstanding technical and product talent; recognized executive presence and change leadership.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
