Johnson & Johnson MedTech, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Spare Parts & Asset Inventory Analyst to join the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Jacksonville, FL campus.
The Spare Parts & Asset Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of a highly automated manufacturing asset base by strategically managing spare parts availability, risk, and investment. This role is focused on proactively mitigating stock‑out and obsolescence risks, optimizing spare parts inventory levels, and balancing service, reliability, and working capital objectives.
Unlike traditional inventory management roles, this position is deeply integrated with automated manufacturing equipment, asset reliability, and engineering lifecycles, requiring close partnership with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain. The Analyst applies asset‑centric and risk‑based inventory strategies to support continuous operations and protect manufacturing uptime.
The role will be based at the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Jacksonville Campus.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Own and manage spare parts inventory strategies supporting automated manufacturing assets, ensuring availability of critical components required to sustain continuous operations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate stock‑out risks, lead‑time constraints, and single‑source dependencies impacting asset uptime.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to assess part criticality, failure modes, and operational risk when setting inventory strategies.
- Collaborate with Engineering and OEMs to manage obsolescence and lifecycle risks, including last‑time buys, redesigns, alternates, and phase‑out strategies.
- Develop and maintain right‑sized inventory levels for spare parts based on asset criticality, usage trends, lead times, and failure data—balancing risk and cost.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory performance against defined inventory value targets, service risk thresholds, and availability KPIs.
- Support annual operating plan and rolling forecast processes by managing spare parts spend, inventory investment, and cash flow impacts.
- Provide visibility into risks and opportunities related to excess, slow‑moving, and obsolete spare parts inventory.
- Leverage ERP, CMMS/EAM, and spare parts management systems to maintain accurate inventory, usage, and financial data.
- Analyze inventory, asset, and failure data to generate actionable insights that inform risk management, capital allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Finance to support inventory governance, auditability, and compliance requirements.
- Translate complex technical and inventory data into clear, actionable insights for operational teams and leadership audiences.
- Support cross‑functional projects related to equipment reliability, automation expansion, digital enablement, and inventory optimization.
Required & Preferred Skills
Required Skills:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, asset management, manufacturing operations, engineering support, or supply chain analytics.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong analytical capabilities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess operational and financial risk.

- Experience with inventory optimization, obsolescence management, and SLOB mitigation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization or analytics tools preferred.
- Six Sigma / Lean or Process Excellence training preferred.
- Experience supporting digital transformations or systems implementations is a plus.
