We are searching for the best talent for Product Manager in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

Purpose:

This role is part of the Surgery Leadership team responsible for the continued growth and development of the portfolio. This portfolio includes Wound closure, Biosurgery and Womens health & urinary products. This role is based in Midrand, Gauteng, and includes the geography of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Eswatini.

This role reports directly to the Business Unit Lead for Surgery.

The Product Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the full marketing plan and portfolio management, establishing pricing strategies, and ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration all aimed at achieving sales and profit objectives by platform. Additionally, will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders as needed within industry as well as funders and hospital groups.

Job Functions:

  • Achieving all key KPI and growth targets.
  • Responsible for the development & execution of the ASH marketing and strategy in close partnership with Functional Business Partners (Governmental Affairs, Prof Ed, Business Development, HR, Finance/Analytics, Pricing, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Quality).
  • Monitor market trends and dynamics, making timely adjustments to strategies to optimize sales performance and market penetration.
  • Developing and executing of all product related activities to promote the ASH portfolio.
  • Thorough analysis of market data and industry trends, establish, maintain and oversee a competitive pricing strategy for the ASH portfolio together with the pricing department, balancing business objectives with market competitiveness.
  • Launch new products through a structured roll out plan involving commercial, education and tailormade marketing and sales activities.
  • Manage portfolio optimisation in all areas and in alignment with key portfolio projects
  • Generate and maintain accurate demand forecasts and manage stock levels in collaboration with the Deliver team to ensure optimal distribution into the market
  • Implement Product Training programmes together with the Business Development Specialist to achieve the desired level of product expertise within the sales force.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics and provide insights on the effectiveness of strategies implemented, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • On time and accurate tender/RFQ submissions private and public
  • Development of influential relationships with KOLs and decision makers within customers, distributors, academic centres of excellence, funders as well as head office groups .
  • Establish competitive product and market insights. Utilise market intelligence to ensure appropriate strategies and tactics are implemented.
  • Driving market research together with Business Development Specialists to analyse and gain insights, prioritize resources and plan portfolio tactics, bringing the voice of customer to all that we do
  • Strong collaboration cross functionally to ensure all stakeholder are aligned and assisting in all aspects of the portfolio plans.
  • Working compliantly and within Healthcare Compliance and regulatory guidelines to achieve business goals.
  • Travel required

Qualification:

  • Science Related degree - BA/BS Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes Required:

  • 5 years of meaningful experience in marketing and/or sales preferably in the medical device industry. Knowledge of and experience in selling/marketing in ASH related segments preferred
  • Proven track record of strong business results both in growth and market share gain.
  • Experience in Restricted / compliance driven portfolios
  • Experience in Omnichannel marketing
  • Effective communicator with experience in presenting complex marketing, clinical and non-clinical info to stakeholders/customers.
  • Strategic problem solver with marketing skills and experience in translating strategy into tactical marketing/selling plans.
  • Experience in leading/mentoring multi-functional teams or projects, successfully delivering objectives to time and within budget.
  • Use and integration of information from Marketing, Sales Force Effectiveness,
  • Strong analytical abilities to make fact-based conclusions about the impact of market dynamics, customers, and competitors on marketing/selling plans.
  • Market development or value/demand creation through experience with customer and market insights or through experience in marketing or other critical functions.
  • Agile at making things happen through managing relationships and networks effectively, both internally and with key external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Public and Private healthcare sector
  • Demonstrates Credo based leadership principles in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
