We are searching for the best talent for a Director, Value Chain Excellence (VCEx)! This hybrid position will be located in Titusville, New Jersey (USA). Alternate hybrid locations may be considered at other Innovative Medicine Supply Chain hubs such as Horsham, Pennsylvania (USA); Zug, Switzerland; or Cork, Ireland.
The Director is responsible for driving continuous improvement and advanced analytics adoption across key Value Chain Management (VCM) and end‑to‑end (E2E) Supply Chain processes within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. This role enables measurable improvements in agility, responsiveness, reliability, and cost competitiveness across the JSC product portfolio throughout the product lifecycle. The Director acts as a change leader and analytics advocate, ensuring E2E processes are aligned, standardized, digitally enabled, and optimized to deliver sustainable business value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead end‑to‑end supply chain improvement initiatives, including facilitating cross‑functional workshops and driving implementation in partnership with Functions and Value Chain Leaders (VCLs)
Assess process maturity, define improvement roadmaps, and ensure disciplined execution and follow‑up
Ensure E2E process alignment and connectivity to optimize overall value chain performance, including cycle time, inventory, agility, and cost
Leverage advanced analytics to identify, prioritize, and quantify improvement opportunities and measure sustainable outcomes
Embed analytics and insight generation into VCM processes to support operational and strategic decision making
Drive digitalization of E2E supply chain processes, including application of digital twin, process mining, control tower concepts, and resilience and performance management enablers
Role‑model the use of advanced analytics and modeling to enable fact‑based trade‑off decisions
Support the design and deployment of best‑in‑class Value Chain Management processes, including maintaining and evolving standard design and optimization toolkits
Document and govern proven practices to enable standardization, knowledge sharing, and sustainability
Partner with Value Chain Teams to support strategic product and supply chain roadmaps
Lead, coach, and mentor teams using Business Process Management and Continuous Improvement methodologies
Drive adoption of one common language, standards, and ways of working across VCM
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s/University or equivalent degree is required; Master’s or MBA degree preferred
Continuous Improvement certification (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe, black belt, etc.) is desirable
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
Supply Chain experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, life sciences, or related industries
Strong expertise in advanced analytics and its application to supply chain and business decision-making
Demonstrated experience deploying Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kepner‑Tregoe) with measurable results
Strong systems and process thinking, with the ability to link strategy, outcomes, drivers, and processes
Proven ability to influence without direct authority in a complex, matrixed, global environment
Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and consensus‑building skills
Preferred:
Experience driving digital supply chain and analytics capabilities, including data and systems enablement
Strong business acumen with an understanding of E2E value creation and key performance levers
Demonstrated global leadership experience and ability to coach high‑performing teams
OTHER:
Requires proficiency in English (excellent written and verbal communication skills) to communicate effectively and professionally
Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required
Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option for two remote workdays each week

€104,000.00 - €179,515.00Benefits:
In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
