We are searching for the best talent for a Scientist (Fixed Term Contract 3 years), Oncology Discovery, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine to be based in Beerse, Belgium.

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Scientist in Oncology, located in Beerse, Belgium for a 3 year contract. The selected candidate will be a key member of a dynamic and collaborative team, responsible for identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of lung and head and neck cancers. We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated candidates that show initiative and the ability to work in teams in a semi-independent manner. The ability to deliver reproducible high-quality results, and troubleshooting skills in assay biology and experimental design, are essential. She/he needs to have a sense of urgency, be well organized, and adhere to project timelines. Experience in drug discovery is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to design, perform, interpret and troubleshoot in vitro experiments and report complex data

  • Perform mammalian cell culture, transfections, transductions, viability/cytotoxicity assays

  • Run cell-based assays such as Western blot/WES, RT-PCR, CellTiter-Glo (CTG), flow cytometry and ELISA

  • Operate advanced lab instrumentation (e.g. Multidrop, Biotek, Viaflo, Incucyte) and work with multi-well plate formats

  • Maintain meticulous experimental records and ensure high-quality data documentation

  • Communicate results clearly through written reports and oral presentations

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor or Masters degree in Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology, Biology or similar

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Ability to perform tissue culture is a must; experience with viability/cytotoxicity assays and immune-oncology co-cultures are preferred

  • Cell/ molecular biology skills including transfections, transductions, western blotting/WES, immunoprecipitation, siRNA/shRNA, qRT-PCR, FACS and ELISA are desired

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to handle several projects simultaneously are required

  • Excellent social skills with the ability to interact effectively with people and teams are required

  • Diligent, with excellent record-keeping skills is a must

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of oncology and drug discovery experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€52,000.00 - €82,685.00
