Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

We are searching for the best talent for COMPONENT ENGINEER I, Orthopedics

Purpose:

To complete projects with suppliers to provide an uninterrupted flow of components for assembly
operations that meet instrument, quality, cost, and delivery requirements

Under general supervision, conducts assignments involving a specific portion of a
project. May assist in determining objectives and planning schedules of multiple
projects with few complex features,

You will be responsible for:

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local
laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Complete technical projects with suppliers to improve supplier process capacity, supplier process capability, supplier process maintainability, instrument assembly capability, and instrumentoutputperformance.

  • Provide technicalsupportforthe approval/ validation of changes/improvements in supplier processes.

  • Provide technical support for the resolution of component quality issues.

  • Potentially coordinate DMR/BOM actives.

  • Sustain supply chain continuity by qualifying and validating supplier tooling as per component approval procedures.

  • Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area.

  • Supports supplier evaluations for major services/products as needed

  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.

  • Follow J&J and Ethicon Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices, Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records andthird-party vendor if applicable.

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • B.S. Engineering degree

  • Generally, requires (0-2) years related experience, or equivalent knowledge and skills, necessary to satisfactorily perform the position responsibilities.

  • Bilingual English/ Spanish.

  • Group integration, multifunctional tasking, and coordinates collaboration between. multiple
    functional groups.

  • Effective communication, oral, written and for presentations.

  • Project management, lead teams located in different areas while executing a Project.

  • Technical competencies, preferred.

  • Tool design preferred.

  • Product/Process risk evaluation.

  • Inter-site transfers.

  • Test method design and validation.

  • Lean and Six Sigma skills.

  • Process validation.

  • Design validation and verification.

  • Technical process writing.

  • Regulatory knowledge.

  • Plastic molding injection.

  • Process Characterizations.

  • GD&T and Measurements systems tools and techniques.

  • Polymer knowledge.

  • Chemical processing.

  • Metal forming component processes.

  • Electromechanical component processes.

  • Packaging processes.

  • PFMEA, DFMA, Control Plans.

  • Metrology and calibrators development.

  • Problem solving techniques and skills.

  • Company Process and product knowledge.

  • Quality system knowledge.

  • GMP/ ISO knowledge.

  • Proficient in Word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and database applications.

  • Statistical analysis software such as Minitab.

  • Knowledge of components manufacturing costs.
