Purpose: This role provides technical support to Toolroom operations within Injection Moulding at Vision Care Ireland in a fast-paced, automated environment. The role supports moulding systems, robotics, pneumatics, and related equipment, with a strong focus on automation and future Toolroom development.
As an Apprentice Tool Room Technician, you will:
Provide production support and carry out maintenance activities.
Support and/or lead quality improvement and cost-reduction projects.
Participate as a key team member in projects requiring input from the Injection Molding Engineering team.
Ensure that Injection Moulding Toolroom activities are carried out in accordance with company operating procedures, and that a high level of productivity and quality is achieved and maintained.
Ensure that all activities carried out are compliant with Vision Care Ireland quality system requirements.
Source and install new equipment and processes to enable the achievement of optimum levels of Quality, Cost & Cycle Time

Plan and execute projects to ensure that project timelines, quality and cost targets are met.
Demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve engineering issues of broad scope using independent judgement.
Drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives, including cost effectiveness through automation and process optimization.
Work closely to build effective relationships with Production, Quality and Regulatory teams.
Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background: Leaving Certificate minimum of 250 points, including a Grade 06 at Ordinary level in five subjects (including Math and a language)
Attitude: A positive demeanor and a hard-working ethos
Experience: Practical experience is desirable but not required
