We are searching for the best talent for Director of Manufacturing Operations for Ethicon Endo in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Purpose:

he Supply Chain Director is responsible for managing production personnel to maximize quality and output in a manufacturing operation. Accountable for achieving production targets while maintaining cost controls.

Leads and directs the production operation. Collaborates with all relevant departments to determine production goals and communicates targets to assigned department. Establishes production priorities and sequence of manufacturing projects. Reviews manufacturing issues to assess any potential risks to operation. Monitors production output against customer due dates and initiates action to prevent missed commitments. Examines production and operating reports and oversees actions taken to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems. Ensures awareness of plant personnel in the areas of safety and quality. Reviews programs within these areas and plant compliance records. Makes sure training plans are aligned with areas in need of improvement.

Reviews and approves standard operational and working practices. Recommends modifications as appropriate. Approves plant's operational budget. Initiates effective cost control practices. Evaluates and approves recommendations regarding equipment repair and/or replacement.

Lead and Coordinate all Production Planning, Raw Materials Procurement (Planning/Buying), warehouse and shipping operations to ensure:

  • Lead and Coordinate all Production Planning, Raw Materials Procurement (Planning/Buying) and warehouse operations.

  • Achieving customer demand fulfillment targets, developing & implementing world-class inventory.

  • Establishes production priorities and sequence of manufacturing projects.

  • Management practices, standards & directing global, strategic demand & inventory plans.

  • This position possesses a broad range of responsibilities critical to efficient utilization of resources & inventories to meet demand.

  • Managing the central focal point representing the interest of marketing, sales, manufacturing, materials, engineering & finance at corporate international & site levels to assure global enterprise product demand objectives are met.

  • Responsible to identify, communicate, and drive corrective actions derived from the execution of the supply plan as it relates to the production planning and logistics activities embedded in duties and responsibilities section.

  • Reviews manufacturing issues to assess any potential risks to operation.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Under the direction of the Plant Manager, directs and coordinates all the manufacturing activities and programs within the Plant.

  • He/she manages the day-to-day of Manufacturing/Process Engineering and interacts with the Materials Management in its responsibility areas.

  • He/she is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of the transfer plans.

  • Coordinates the implementation of new technology and products in the Business Units according to the goals and objectives of the Corporation.

  • Establishes the G&O and develops plans for his direct subordinates assigned to the Business Units.

  • Develops, maintains, and improves all the Business Processes under his/her supervision.

  • Participates in the day-to-day of operations with a responsibility in the production of products at the lowest cost, consisting on the specifications of quality control and production programs.

  • Develops and participates in strategic decisions of the plant, his/her division, and the company.

  • Manages and coordinates Engineering through subordinated engineers and technicians to meet Production/NPD requirements safely consistent with costs, high quality (profitability) and the required delivery times.

Responsible for logistic activities such as:

  • Receives essentially administrative supervision, with assignments, objectives and deadlines given in general terms.

  • Has complete technical and administrative responsibility to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate his/her areas of responsibility.

  • Establishes operational goals and objectives in the same line and strategies of the corporation.

  • Provides a leadership role in the development and implementation of the world-class manufacturing standards (TAI, JAI, CFM).

  • Implements goal systems and procedures to ensure that equipment and machinery comply with required operational performance.

  • Determines and watches the implementation of capital goods improvements.

  • Ensures the introduction of new products in compliance with operational G&O.

  • Watches the master plan regarding how it relates to the FGI.

  • Understands the Materials Management and Logistics.

  • Ensures adequate levels of manufacturing, materials and personnel.

  • Initiates effective cost control practices. Understands Quality System Regulations (QSR) and ensures compliance with ISO and QSR regulations.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Pharmacology, Engineering, Materials, or related Sciences.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Ten (10) to twelve (12) years of experience, preferably in Operations, Manufacturing, or related activities, preferably in medical products or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Minimum three (3) years at managerial level.

  • Five (5) years in materials planning, master scheduling, inventory management, or demand management preferred.

  • Five (5) years budget development and management experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of new product launches, quality assurance requirements, GMPs, safety and environment, planning and finance preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Financial analysis, budgets, and cost knowledge

  • Commitment to company Credo and business processes.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Experience with inventory management systems and materials management in multi-site environments.

  • Ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

This position reports to Plant Manager and has responsibility for managing:

  • Warehouse (Receiving, Handling and Shipping)

  • Production Planning

  • Materials Handling

  • Raw Materials Procurement

  • Manufacturing Manager

  • Engineering Manager

The Company maintains a highly competitive sales incentive compensation program. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for participation in this program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.

The expected base pay range for this position is $150,000.
