    We are searching for the best talent for Senior Supervisor, Engineering Service & Repair to support our MedTech Orthopedics business​ in Grecia, Costa Rica.

Purpose:

  • The Sr Supervisor Engineering- Service & Repair is pivotal in ensuring the successful launch and ongoing support of innovative capital equipment medical devices repair processes within the Service & Repair Depot. This role partners with cross-functional teams to onboard new products, solve process issues, support validation and documentation, improve efficiency and productivity.

    You will be responsible for:

    In accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, as well as Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines, this position:

    • Leads the local depot installation of service processes for new product lines, ensuring comprehensive qualification and training is executed.

    • Coordinates the purchasing and leads qualification and validation of repair tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and process changes in accordance with quality system requirements.

    • Drives quality and serviceability improvements using Process Excellence tools to resolve complex operational issues and enhance service offerings.

    • Monitors service performance metrics, analyzing results to identify root causes of issues and consults with Service and Site quality on product or service improvements.

    • Communicates relevant business-related issues and opportunities to the next management level to facilitate informed decision-making.

    • Provides day-to-day engineering support to repair technicians by troubleshooting process issues, clarifying technical requirements, and implementing sustainable solutions.

    • Investigates nonconformances and equipment failures using structured problem-solving tools and supports corrective and preventive actions.

    • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce turnaround time, improve first-pass yield, increase throughput, and eliminate waste in repair operations.

    • Monitors repair performance metrics and analyzes trends to identify root causes, improve process capability, and support capacity planning.

    • Performs other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the department and organization.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

    Minimum Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required, with a preference for

    degrees in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering.

    Minimum Experience:

    • A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or service engineering, particularly in the medical device industry, is required.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Supporting repair, refurbishment, or test operations for complex electromechanical or surgical equipment.

    • Root cause analysis, CAPA, validation, technical documentation, and continuous improvement methods such as Lean or Six Sigma.

    • Experience in medical device or other highly regulated industries

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    • Demonstrated expertise in electro-mechanical device principles, assembly processes, and troubleshooting

    • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing or repair environment

    • Demonstrated experience qualifying and validating tooling and test equipment

    • Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

    • Problem Solving: Analytical skills to drive quality improvements and process excellence in service operations.

    • Service Engineering Principles: Expertise in applying service engineering and business principles to enhance product serviceability.

    • Technical Documentation Skills: Proficient in writing formal technical and business reports, including troubleshooting guides and manuals.

    • Fluent in Spanish and English
