Job Description:

We are seeking a curious, influential Sr. Manager, Product Experience Design to partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Architecture to establish experience strategy into clear priorities across complex products, platforms and services. The Sr. Manager, Product Experience Design leads and mentors designers, aligns cross-functional leaders, and ensures that human-centered solutions deliver measurable business impact.

This individual brings exceptional craft, strong design judgement, and organizational influence. This role drives teams to translate emerging technology, including agentic and AI-enabled capabilities, into responsible, intuitive, and scalable experiences.

This role will initially be based in New Brunswick NJ or Raritan NJ, with a focus on digital products for our corporate and enterprise technology function. As business priorities evolve, the role’s assigned area of focus may change. The position follows J&J Flex, Johnson & Johnson’s hybrid working model for eligible office-based employees, with a minimum of three days on-site each week.

You will:

  • Set and champion the experience vision and drive design strategy across complex products, platforms, or interconnected systems.

  • Lead product experience activities from opportunity framing and strategic alignment through prototyping, validation, implementation and iterative release.

  • Influence product and technology strategy by translating user needs, business priorities, data, and technical constraints into clear experience opportunities and recommendations.

  • Lead a team of employee and contractor designers, optimizing the resource mix and capabilities in partnership with business and JJT leaders to meet current and future demand.

  • Lead through ambiguity by framing team priorities, simplifying complex problems, and making things tangible through prototyping.

  • Advocate for responsible, inclusive, and human-centered AI experiences across Johnson & Johnson products and services.

  • Establish team-level success metrics to demonstrate the impact of design decisions and team’s work.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Human-Centered Design, Product Design, Interaction Design or design adjacent areas with 10+ years of experience in user experience, digital product design or related field including leading complex, cross-functional initiatives

  • A portfolio demonstrating strategic and end-to-end design leadership, strong interaction and visual craft, systems thinking, use of AI tools, and clear evidence of measurable impact

  • Demonstrated ability to establish team priorities, align stakeholders, and make effective trade-offs

  • Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with agile product development practices

  • Proficiency in Maze or other user research tools.

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for healthcare, complex workflows or other regulated environments

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled or emerging technology experiences

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$137,000.00 - $235,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
