Role Purpose

Support the drive for medical excellence while ensuring strong governance & compliance and evidence based medical support based on scientific integrity for the Surgery devices portfolio in India. The role is execution-focused and device-centric—anchored in advisory boards, medical review of marketing communication, patient safety and compliance—with emphasis on real-world clinical practice and safe technology adoption rather than large, resource-intensive clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

Advisory Boards & Expert Forums

· Plan and support advisory boards and expert forums; set objectives, agendas, and insight questions.

· Ensure compliant contracting, FMV honoraria, documentation, and insight capture.

· Convert insights into clear actions for education and communication.

Marketing Communication & Copy Review

· Own medical/scientific review of promotional and non-promotional materials.

· Ensure accuracy, balance, and evidence support; maintain audit-ready records.

· Shape device-relevant clinical narratives

Safety, Vigilance & Complaints

· Ensure timely, accurate Product Complaint reporting, Medical Device Reporting (MDR), and Adverse Event escalation in alignment with J&J safety and vigilance frameworks.

· Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Safety, and Legal teams to drive audit preparedness, documentation accuracy, CAPA management, and internal governance routines.

· Strengthen surveillance and reporting systems for medical information requests, safety signals, clinical queries, and field escalations.

· Maintain complete traceability and audit readiness for all medical activities, ensuring 100% compliance with internal SOPs, QMS, and local regulatory requirements.

Compliance & Governance

· Ensure all medical activities meet J&J policies, local law, and industry codes.

· Maintain audit readiness, documentation, and ethical standards.

KOL Engagement & Scientific Exchange

· Build credible relationships via compliant scientific dialogue and forums.

· Support faculty programs and congress engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

· MD / MBBS / M.Pharm, PharmD, or PhD (Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences). MBA will be an added advantage.

· 4-8 years in Medical Affairs or scientific roles within MedTech/devices or procedure-based therapies.

· Proven experience in copy review, advisory boards, compliance, and safety/vigilance.

· Surgery/OR exposure strongly preferred.

Core Competencies

· High ethical standards and strong orientation toward patient safety and compliance.

· Ability to evaluate evidence and claims in a device context.

· Excellent medical writing, communication, and presentation skills; comfort operating with lean resources

· Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without authority.
