Johnson & Johnson Surgery: Shaping the future of surgery

We are looking for a sales-driven, charismatic Sales Consultant Surgery, with a can-do mentality in the Southern region of the Netherlands.
Within the Surgery franchise of Johnson & Johnson, we develop surgical and interventional solutions that center on the unique journey of every patient, and help to discover more efficient, groundbreaking pathways to healing.

We are searching for the best talent for Sales Consultant Surgery – Southern Netherlands.

This is an opportunity across our Surgical Oncology and Obesity teams. Depending on your background, strengths and business needs, you may be considered for either team. Prior experience in oncology or obesity is not required.

Purpose: You will act as an entrepreneurial commercial partner for healthcare professionals, taking ownership of territory performance and market development. You will translate customer and clinical insights into focused account plans, influence adoption of surgical technologies and build sustainable growth through value-based selling and cross-functional collaboration.

You will be responsible for:

· Own territory performance, create a focused business plan and deliver sustainable sales growth with existing and new customers.

· Build trusted relationships with surgeons, key clinical stakeholders and operating-room decision makers, developing strong advocates for our solutions.

· Identify market potential, customer needs and growth opportunities, and translate these into clear segmentation, targeting and account priorities.

· Lead value-based selling initiatives that connect clinical evidence, workflow improvement and economic value to customer priorities.

· Drive adoption through high-quality product demonstrations, hands-on training and expert guidance in surgical environments.

· Use sales analysis and market insights to adjust plans, accelerate opportunities and improve overall performance.

· Create customer-focused solutions and added-value projects in partnership with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Business Development and Strategic Account teams.

· Represent the business at congresses, user meetings and professional events.

· Deliver excellent customer service while managing complex questions, complaints or supply-related issues.

· Ensure all commercial activities meet Johnson & Johnson policies and Healthcare Compliance requirements.


Qualifications / Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a medical, paramedical, life-sciences, technical, commercial, business or comparable field, or equivalent relevant experience.

· At least three years of sales experience in a relevant industry.

· Demonstrated success in consultative sales, business development or a comparable customer-facing commercial role.

· Ability to manage a territory with autonomy, translate strategy into execution and deliver measurable business results.

· Strong influencing, negotiation, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills in a matrix environment.

· Confidence learning and communicating technical, clinical and economic value to varied hospital stakeholders.

· Entrepreneurial, analytical and resilient, with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.

· Fluent Dutch and strong English, both spoken and written.

· Valid category B driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

· Based in, or willing to operate across, the relevant Netherlands territory.


Preferred:

· Experience in healthcare, medical technology, commercial roles, customer engagement, or other environments where building relationships and creating value for customers is key.

· Interest in healthcare innovation, medical technologies, and improving patient outcomes through collaborative partnerships.

· Understanding of, or curiosity about, the Dutch healthcare environment and the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

· Experience leading projects, developing customer-focused initiatives, building professional networks, or collaborating with diverse stakeholders.


In addition to base salary, this role includes a sales incentive plan as part of a competitive total rewards package, recognizing and rewarding performance.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€55,000.00 - €88,090.00

Benefits:

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions. Moreover, we offer vacation days, parental leave for a minimum of 12 weeks, bereavement leave, caregiver leave, volunteer leave, well-being reimbursement, programs for financial, physical and mental health.
