Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for Sr. Director, ERP Supply Chain & SAP Technology Platforms, Orthopedics.


Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals, and other customary conditions and approvals.

The Sr. Director, ERP Supply Chain & SAP Technology Platforms role provides enterprise leadership including strategy and planning, architecture and execution, and functional and technical operations of ERP Supply Chain solutions and the SAP Technology platform across a complex multi-instance ECC and S/4 global landscape.


This leader will manage multiple conveyed SAP ECC and S/4 instances supporting Day 1 separation, lead transition activities during the TSA period, and execute on the SAP instance consolidation into S/4 supporting TSA exit with focus on Supply Chain ERP capabilities.


Additionally, this role is accountable to establish SAP technology platform services and governance including application development and delivery, and operational support for cross-functional business operations for multiple SAP instances including both finance and supply chain ERP ecosystems and satellite applications.


This position partners closely with Finance, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and IT leaders to modernize and rationalize platforms, strengthen data and analytics, and drive measurable business value through technology. The role reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end technology strategy, architecture, delivery, and operations of SAP technology platform capabilities across multiple SAP ECC and S/4 instances in alignment with enterprise business priorities.
  • Lead prioritization decisions to balance regulatory, operational, and strategic initiatives while maximizing business value and meeting critical Day 1 and TSA exit separation objectives.
  • Establish and operate the SAP technology platform governance model, including product and platform architecture standards, budgets, and vendor and partner management.
  • Manage SAP and SI/managed services partner relationships, licensing strategy, and contract performance.
  • Transform and support SAP ERP capabilities for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality, aligned to DePuy Synthes business priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the application of AI and automation to modernize platforms and operations at scale, such as code remediation and automated testing.
  • Ensure regulatory, data integrity, and cybersecurity compliance across all technology platforms.
  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing global technology organization, including internal teams, onshore and offshore resources, and strategic partners.
  • Establish strong governance, vendor management, and financial oversight for technology investments and operating spend.
  • Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and standardization to enable a resilient and future-ready SAP ecosystem.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree, MBA, MS, or equivalent, preferred.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • 12-14 years of progressive experience planning, designing, delivering, and supporting enterprise SAP business applications and platforms.
  • Demonstrated enterprise experience leading, architecting, and supporting SAP platforms, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4, SAP BTP, satellite SAP solutions, and integration with non-SAP boundary solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering SAP COE platform services, including administration (BASIS), development (ABAP, SAP IS), SAP BTP, release/change/transport and landscape management, security, archiving, and data migration.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, global technology programs and complex transformations, including migration to SAP S/4.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience delivering Supply Chain ERP solutions and ERP S/4 transformation including planning, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, quality.
  • Experience operating in the highly regulated Life Sciences industry with strong compliance and validation expectations.
  • People leadership experience, including building diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams and establishing offshore GCC delivery teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting complex medical device supply chain and manufacturing environments, including niche requirements such as loaner, service, and repair.
  • Experience leading large scale separations and divestitures through Day 1 and TSA exit.
  • Experience managing global system integrators and strategic technology vendors.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-year technology budgets.
  • Change leadership experience in large, matrixed organizations.

  • Certifications: IT, SAP, supply chain, or program management certifications, such as PMP or ITIL, preferred

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
