Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is searching for a Access Engagement & HTA Head to join our Market Access Team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Market Access Director, this role support J&J Innovative Medicine Saudi Arabia’s access engagement and HTA strategy, positioning the portfolio for success within an evolving Saudi healthcare system.
As a customer- and stakeholder-facing Market Access leader, the role connects policy, HTA and emerging healthcare models with field access execution.
Working closely with HEMAR Leads, SAM, Pricing & Tender, Medical, Commercial and Regulatory teams, the role translates external developments into actionable portfolio and account strategies.
The role is accountable for three strategic priorities:
- Shape the environment through HTA, policy and value dialogue.
- Build for the emerging healthcare model by engaging new entities and developing innovative access solutions.
- Move access closer to customers through differentiated, insight-driven field engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape policy and HTA dialogue with MoH, CNHI/CHTA and CHI, anticipating evolving evidence, economic and value requirements and translating them into portfolio, brand and evidence plans.
- Lead the KSA portfolio HTA and Economic Evaluation Study strategy, including Saudi-adapted economic models, local epidemiology, real-world evidence and appropriate comparators, in close partnership with HEMAR and Medical Affairs.
- Monitor major healthcare-system developments, including Vision 2030 healthcare transformation, financing reform and privatization, and translate them into clear access implications, risks and opportunities for the leadership team.
- Activate relevant priorities across HTA and EES activities, strengthening strategic contracting, price protection, value and pricing policy, portfolio value narratives and stakeholder prioritization.
- Represent J&J Innovative Medicine credibly in appropriate policy forums, industry associations and public-private initiatives.
- Establish and deepen strategic relationships with emerging healthcare stakeholders, including CNHI, HHC and healthcare clusters, provider economic functions, and purchasing/contracting organizations.
- Serve as a key Market Access interface with transforming the healthcare ecosystem, identifying changes early and translating them into actionable access opportunities.
- Support developing the innovative access solutions including value-based agreements, outcomes-based contracting, innovative financing, early-access and managed-entry approaches, aligned with evolving purchasing and reimbursement models.
- Develop high-level health-transformation plans reflecting HHC and cluster priorities and connect these plans with portfolio priorities and launch sequencing.
- Apply an integrated planning discipline to strategic access initiatives, with quantified ambition, clear DRI ownership, defined milestones and regular continue/refine/scale/stop decisions.
- Partner with Medical, Commercial, Regulatory, HEMAR and other Access team members to align portfolio strategies with emerging pathways and strengthen organizational readiness for the new healthcare model.
- Build a differentiated customer-facing access engagement model, segmenting stakeholders according to influence, strategic importance and access impact.
- Expand Market Access engagement beyond traditional purchasing stakeholders to include cluster leadership, finance, contracting, HTA committees, insurers and other emerging access decisionmakers.
- Establish a disciplined after-action review approach to evaluate stakeholder reach, conversion, follow-through and value-message effectiveness, translating insights into future engagement priorities.
- Connect national access achievements with account-level execution, ensuring formulary and tender wins translate into sustainable patient access and uptake.
