Job Description:

Medical Science Liaison, Bladder Cancer

Location: Flanders

Full-time

Field-based role with procedural support responsibilities

Shape what comes next in bladder cancer

Ready to combine medical science with real-time clinical support? Join us as we introduce a new model of care for bladder cancer treatment in Belgium!

As a Medical Science Liaison you will work with urologists and hospital teams before, during and after insertion and removal procedures of a new drug/device system. We will rely on you to translate scientific and technical information into clear guidance, respond to questions and help clinical teams become confident using the system.

You will be part of our Oncology Genitourinary (GU) Medical Affairs team and work side by side with the GU MSLs. Together, we will coordinate hospital coverage, exchange insights and build a consistent approach across Belgium. Your contribution will help us deliver a positive experience for healthcare professionals and patients.

This is a field-based position. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in hospitals and other field settings. Procedure dates may change, so the role requires some flexibility and travel across Flanders.

What you will do

Your work will connect science, education and practical implementation. In this role, you will:

  • Lead peer-to-peer scientific exchange with urologists, oncologists, nurses and the multidisciplinary team, using fair, balanced and evidence-based information.
  • Support the full bladder cancer treatment system journey: prepare teams before insertion or removal, provide approved technical and product guidance when requested during the procedure, and follow up on scientific or educational needs.
  • Build solid understanding of the bladder cancer treatment system, instructions for use, product data, patient characteristics and relevant procedural considerations, including challenging anatomy, both by procedural support, as by Medical Education activities.
  • Create trusted relationships with multidisciplinary hospital teams and help them develop the knowledge and confidence to use the system independently.
  • Turn field observations into useful medical and procedural insights that strengthen our strategy, training and implementation.

You will provide guidance, not clinical care. The treating healthcare professional performs the procedure and remains responsible for all clinical decisions. We will provide the scientific, product, procedural, privacy and compliance training you need to work expertly within this scope.

How we will work together

We believe great field medical work is a team effort. You will partner with the GU MSL colleagues to plan coverage, share good practices and keep support connected across regions. We will also work with you on clinical research, Medical Education and responses to unsolicited scientific questions.

We expect everyone on the team to follow applicable laws, safety-reporting requirements, company policies and Health Care Business Integrity standards. In return, we will give you clear training, experienced colleagues to learn from and the opportunity to help build this model from the start.

What you bring

We are looking for someone who can combine scientific thinking with practical communication in a clinical environment. The essentials are:

  • A degree in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, life sciences or a related field.
  • You understand clinical evidence and can explain complex information in a clear, visual and step-by-step way.
  • Strong communication, planning and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate closely with cross functional colleagues.
  • Readiness to work in procedure rooms after training, with respect for patient privacy and the boundaries of the MSL role.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel to hospitals across Flanders with approximately 80% of working time in the field.
  • Professional fluency in Dutch and English, French is an advantage to have.

Experience that can help you succeed

You may bring experience from Medical Affairs, clinical practice, nursing, or MedTech. Experience in uro-oncology, bladder cancer, field medical work, clinical education, procedural support, drug-device combinations or the Belgian hospital environment would be useful, but it is not required.

We welcome different career paths and encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every preferred qualification.

What you can expect from us

You will join a great team preparing to introduce a new approach in bladder cancer. We will provide structured scientific, product and procedural learning, ongoing coaching and access to experienced Medical Affairs colleagues. You will have room to grow your expertise, shape how we support hospitals and see the impact of your work in the field.

Interested in helping us build the future of bladder cancer treatment in Belgium and Luxembourg? We would love to meet you!
