Job Description
Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery is recruiting a Global Strategic Marketing Director for the BIOPATCH™ brand. The J&J MedTech Surgery franchise offers a broad range of products, platforms, and technologies—including sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars, synthetic mesh devices, and energy-based surgical devices—used across a wide variety of open and minimally invasive procedures. The Director, BIOPATCH™, GSM Biosurgery will provide end-to-end global leadership for the brand—from innovation pipeline through expansion strategy, supply, and commercial performance—partnering closely with cross-functional teams directly accountable for these activities. The role is responsible for the BIOPATCH™ business and brand strategy, including development and execution of plans across brand management, strategy, and overall brand support. This leader will apply Biosurgery growth strategies to drive results and deliver business plan commitments.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end brand strategy, including segmentation, positioning, pricing strategy, claims, and lifecycle management.
Partner with Regional Marketing to ensure strong global implementation of brand strategies and ongoing program execution.
Serve as a key member of the project leadership team, driving clinical objectives while balancing schedule and resourcing. Partner with R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Sales, Regional Marketing, Finance, GSI, and key customers to plan, coordinate, and sequence product launches and line extensions.
Provide commercial leadership to advance product concepts through the new product development process, including voice-of-customer insights, business plan development, target product profiles, and launch excellence.
Own delivery of financial targets within specified budgets and timelines, and ensure compliance with applicable country and regional requirements, as well as company regulations, policies, and procedures.
Partner with Strategic Alliance Lead within the business to manage the Integra partnership and position Biopatch for short, mid, and long term growth and profitability.
Develop and expand evidence strategy to capture growth and market leadership for this best in class technology and brand.
Stay abreast of hospital/health care and payor/reporting dynamics to ensure innovation and commercial strategies align with patient, customer and market opportunities.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 15 years of progressive business experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and/or sales, with a strong record of results
Experience with Marketing Excellence/Mastery, including Launch Excellence principles
Excellent cross-functional influencing skills and ability to build customer relationships
Experience in product development, including needs assessment, portfolio management, and product lifecycle management
Preferred
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS)
Experience in healthcare and/or the medical device industry
Previous regional in-line marketing and/or global marketing experience
Experience with supply chain, global brand management, influencing a medical device sales force, and new product launches
Demonstrated experience developing and applying customer insights
Proven ability to work in a global, multi-disciplinary environment
