We are searching for the best talent for a Director, Value Chain Management (VCM) Portfolio Lead! This hybrid position will be located in Titusville, New Jersey (USA). Alternate hybrid locations may be considered at other Innovative Medicine Supply Chain hubs such as Horsham, Pennsylvania (USA); Zug, Switzerland; or Cork, Ireland.
As a senior leadership role, the VCM Portfolio Director is responsible for crafting how VCM selects, prioritizes, funds, and delivers value across the Product Strategy Roadmap (PSR). This role leads the end‑to‑end (E2E) portfolio operating model, investment governance, and insights delivery, while driving the digital transformation of portfolio and budget management processes. The Director partners closely with R&D, JSC/Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, and PMO organizations to ensure portfolio decisions are data‑driven, strategically aligned, and driven with rigor. The role elevates Business Plan (BP) and Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP) insights through clear, actionable visual storytelling, enabling stronger leadership decision making—particularly during the 2026 transition period.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the VCM portfolio strategy and governance model, including intake, prioritization, value assessment, and lifecycle oversight
Own and lead Coarse Screen and Fine Screen processes, ensuring alignment, prioritization, and financial decisions that support Strategy and Portfolio objectives
Coordinate and lead Functional Governance and Performance Reviews, including readiness for IRC, business case completion, execution oversight, and communication of strategic impacts
Maintain transparency of strategic alignment by mapping critical functional projects and programs to enterprise goals
Facilitate sub‑portfolio governance activities in alignment with PPMO standards and enterprise governance forums
Lead LRFP, BP, and all financial cycles for the function, partnering with Finance on forecasting, portfolio health assessments, and financial stewardship
Enhance BP and LRFP insights through clear, actionable visuals and storytelling, shifting from financial reporting to value‑focused insights that highlight trends, drivers, and PSR implications
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across portfolio, financial, and performance reporting
Continuously improve the portfolio operating model, governance efficiency, tools, and decision‑making frameworks
Deploy and champion IMSC standards and tools, and actively participate in the IMSC Community of Practice
Serve as a partner to Value Chain Leaders (VCLs), PMO, Finance, R&D, and JSC leadership, enabling aligned and transparent portfolio decisions
Lead, develop, and inspire a high‑performing team across portfolio operations, analytics, financial planning, and digital product ownership
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s/University or equivalent degree is required; Master’s or MBA degree preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
Experience in portfolio management, investment planning, financial governance, or strategy within a global, matrixed environment
Supply chain experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industry
Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional portfolios and governance forums
Strong expertise in data visualization, storytelling, and executive communication (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel)
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead teams without direct authority, and drive continuous improvement across processes and tools
Preferred:
Experience with digital product or platform ownership (e.g., Quickbase, ERP/PPM integrations)
Experience delivering training in international, virtual environments
OTHER:
Requires proficiency in English (excellent written and verbal communication skills) to communicate effectively and professionally
Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required
Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option for two remote workdays each week

€104,000.00 - €179,515.00Benefits:
