This is what you will do as an Associate Quality Engineer Maintenance

We are looking for an Associate Quality Engineer Maintenance to join our Global Engineering & Technology Maintenance team in Leiden. In this role, you support quality processes within maintenance in a GMP-regulated environment. You will gain hands-on experience in investigations, documentation, and compliance, while working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with GMP, company policies, and quality standards
  • Assist in quality investigations, deviations, and CAPA activities
  • Support root cause analyses using tools such as 5 Why and Ishikawa
  • Review maintenance documentation after execution, including preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Assess and process SAP notifications under supervision
  • Act as a first point of contact for basic QA-related maintenance questions
  • Support document management, including SOPs, work instructions, and training curricula
  • Contribute to audit and inspection readiness
  • Collaborate with Operations, QC, and QA to solve issues
  • Identify risks and escalate in a timely manner

Your profile:

  • MBO-4 diploma in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 0–3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or other regulated environment
  • Strong interest in quality and maintenance processes
  • Basic knowledge of GMP and quality systems is a plus
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Professional-level English language skills (written and spoken) are required.
  • Structured, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Familiarity with SAP, MS Office, or quality systems is an advantage

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€38.300,00 - €61.410,00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
