DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Professional Education Manager, located in Pomezia, Italy.

Job Overview

The Professional Education Manager plays a critical role in advancing surgeon education and supporting commercial strategy through the design, execution, and continuous improvement of professional education programs. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and key external faculty to deliver high‑quality educational experiences that support safe and effective use of DePuy Synthes products. The position offers the opportunity to influence clinical practice, strengthen customer relationships, and directly impact business growth through education excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of professional education programs aligned with commercial and brand strategies.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs to ensure educational initiatives support product launches and ongoing portfolio priorities.

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external faculty, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high‑quality educational content.

  • Oversee program logistics, budgets, timelines, and vendor coordination to ensure effective delivery of live, virtual, and hybrid education events.

  • Ensure all professional education activities comply with Johnson & Johnson policies, regulatory requirements, and industry codes.

  • Analyze program effectiveness and participant feedback to drive continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.

  • Support the development and mentoring of cross‑functional partners involved in education delivery.

  • Lead a team of experts and provide guidance end-to-end on business compliance activities related to professional events.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Life Sciences, Business, Education, or related field).

  • Master’s degree (MBA, M.Ed., or related) preferred.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant professional experience, including professional education, commercial operations, marketing, or medical device/pharmaceutical environments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and budget management skills.

  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence without direct authority.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort engaging clinical and commercial audiences.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting surgeon or healthcare professional education programs.

  • Prior experience within orthopedics or medical devices.

  • Experience with adult learning principles and curriculum design.

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements related to healthcare professional interactions.

  • People management experience even in small teams is a plus.

Other:

  • Language requirements: Proficiency in English required; additional languages a plus depending on region.

  • Travel: Up to 30–40%, including national and occasional international travel.

  • Certifications: Project management or education‑related certifications preferred but not required.

  • Valid driver’s license required if supporting field‑based educational activities.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€65,000.00 - €106,950.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
