The site Operations Manager is responsible for operating the DC La Louviere to deliver to the Janssen customers the right product, in a good condition, with the right documents, at the agreed timing, for an optimal cost.
To realize this goal, he manages several parties:
Site operations - Ceva (3PL) - solid line
Site security - Janssen Security Belgium - dotted line
Facility maintenance - dotted line • Site quality -

He translates the objectives towards the different parties (internal and external); periodically evaluates the performance and reports the results of his processes to the management and stakeholders. He uses and stimulates the use of the Credo values.
The EDC distributes finished pharmaceutical products in different channels: •
Export distribution: Worldwide distribution of large volumes of goods produced in Beerse, Latina, Schaffhausen and third party manufacturers: ambient (15-25) and cold chain (2-8) products.
Fine distribution for Janssen Cilag customers in different European countries ambient and cold chain products.
The Site Operation Manager is part of the European Distribution Hubs management team. He is responsible for rolling out the network strategy and managing the impact on the DC La Louviere
Specific responsibilities:
Contractor management: He manages the relationship with the 3PL (Ceva) in all dimensions (operations, cost, compliance, ...).
EH&S (environment, health and safety) Defines EH&S objectives and strategy in alignment with the EH&S department. Defines EH&S roles & responsibilities in the job descriptions of all employees - Rolls out the EH&S objectives in all layers of the organisation - Makes resources available to implement the EH&S strategy - Evaluates EH&S aspects throughout the decision-making process. - Follows up & takes corrective actions if required. - Takes initiatives to improve EH&S. - Monitors compliance with the legislation in cooperation with EH&S department.
cGMP - Defines cGMP objectives and strategy in alignment with QA. Defines cGMP roles & responsibilities in the job descriptions of all employees. Rolls out the cGMP objectives in all layers of the organisation. Makes resources available to implement the compliance strategy. Evaluates cGMP aspects throughout the decision-making process. Follows up & takes corrective actions if required. Takes initiatives to improve cGMP compliance. Monitors compliance with the cGMP's in cooperation with QA.
Process owner of the system/process "Distribution" in the DC La Louviere. The site Operation Manager is system/process owner of the process "Distribution". He acts as spokesperson towards internal and external (authorities) inspections. He is responsible for formally describing the system/process. He is responsible to continuously evaluate and improve the system/process. He takes preventive and corrective actions when shortcomings of the system/process are observed and reported.
System accountability for La Louviere site eWM - Warehouse & Distribution System - La Louviere process WCS - Warehouse control system.
Customer Responsible for the customer experience of the DC La Louviere. Cost Responsible for the DC budget (setting up, defending until approval, realising the commitments, reporting) (OPEX & CAPEX). Captures and manages the cost improvement initiatives and reports them in the CIP-list. Compliance EH&S (operator safety program, insurance, environmental, site, corporate) GMP/GDP (quality system, deviation handling, inspections) Logistics (stock accuracy, stock corrections, cycle counts) Trade compliance (ADR/IATA, customs, SOX (processes & handoffs)
Qualifications
Education:
- Master diploma in engineering, science, economics or business management
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Direct and indirect leadership skills to lead larger organizations (+100 persons): min 5 years proven track record leading cross-functional teams
- Strong experience in distribution related processes. Broad business and technical knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and GMP. Min experience of 10 years in supply chain function.
- Demonstrated knowledge of functions including EHS, Quality and Finance.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and warehouse management systems (eWMS)
- Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and methods of driving continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience crafting and working with negotiated agreements.
- High level proficiency managing supplier relationships.
- High level of credibility with internal customers and within the external supply chain community.
- Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints. Proven examples of delivering high performance while handling risk
- Agile mindset: Demonstrated flexibility to respond to changes in external and internal environments.
- Languages: English and preferably French & Dutch
- Full-time on-site presence required
