Inside our first-ever Global Learning Day

Never stop learning. Stay at the top of your game. Reinvent yourself and your career. These are not just slogans; we are committed to making them a reality through bold action.

September 29 is Global Learning Day at Johnson & Johnson, a first-of-its-kind event—an enterprise-wide dedicated day of learning—and a day that will look like no other in our 137-plus-year history.

Taking new approaches is also a key part of our mission, according to Joaquin Duato, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Johnson & Johnson. “Continued learning is directly related to progress. We all have a responsibility to learn and grow. This is how Johnson & Johnson will stay ahead of competitors, deliver for patients and remain a global leader in healthcare.”

So what’s on tap for this inclusive and flexible all-day event? Highlights include:

  • Guided self-reflection exercises to support personal and professional development
  • Opportunities to explore the amazing learning resources on J&J Learn, our world-class AI-powered internal learning and development ecosystem
  • Skill-building workshops, webinars and online courses spanning topics such as intelligent automation, digital transformation, coaching, design thinking, conscious inclusion and much more
  • Live learning events in multiple time zones and languages

Of course, Global Learning Day is only the first step in a broader plan. But as first steps go, asking more than 130,000 purpose-filled people around the world to put aside their daily work responsibilities and prioritize their learning and development is no small thing—it says a lot about the direction we’re heading, and it should serve as a jumping-off point for further change.

“We want everyone on our team to be at the forefront of their fields and empowered to reinvent themselves through lifelong learning journeys,” Joaquin said.

Reflecting on Global Learning Day, he added, “Whatever their focus, I have invited our employees to be curious. Many of the world’s greatest scientific advances were sparked by curiosity, so let’s have some fun.”

Life is an opportunity to learn. Be open to it! No matter where you are in your career journey, I encourage you to embrace a learning mindset.
