Purpose:

Global Audit & Assurance (GA&A) provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services to help management maintain compliance with government and industry regulations, mitigate risk, and achieve operational excellence. The Senior Auditor Investigator supports the Compliance Audit & Investigations team in conducting Sensitive Issue (SI) investigations primarily across Latin America, with support to other regions as needed, including matters involving alleged fraud, potential financial statement misstatements, asset misappropriation, conflicts of interest, expense reporting, and potential violations of Johnson & Johnson business conduct or other company policies. The role also conducts anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) process reviews and risk-based reviews at J&J operating companies and related third parties to assess compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other applicable regulations, and supports other financial, compliance, or operational audits and special projects, as needed. This position works independently on assigned responsibilities, with guidance from the Lead or Job Manager, and collaborates with attorneys, compliance partners, business stakeholders, and external service providers to deliver high-quality, timely work.

You will be responsible for:

  • Plan and conduct assigned SI investigation procedures across Latin America, including assessing risks, developing work plans from limited information, contributing to scope and work programs, selecting and executing tests, and coordinating assigned fieldwork with guidance from the Lead or Job Manager.
  • Conduct compliance process reviews, walkthroughs, and other audit or special project work in areas such as anti-bribery and anti-corruption, healthcare compliance, financial controls, and operational effectiveness, applying professional skepticism and a compliance risk mindset.
  • Prepare clear, detailed workpapers, discussion notes, and process walkthroughs; draft concise audit observations, investigation reports, and recommendations for review by the Lead or Job Manager; and present evidence-supported findings to local company leadership, incorporating relevant J&J internal policies, as applicable.
  • Analyze complex financial and non-financial information to identify trends, develop insights, and support conclusions and recommendations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with management, staff, and peers, including senior leadership as needed, both verbally and in writing.
  • Partner with attorneys, compliance personnel, business stakeholders, and external service providers, serving as a reliable contact for assigned engagement areas and fostering openness and teamwork across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Work independently on assigned responsibilities with limited supervision, apply business acumen and sound judgment, recognize when technical advice or scope changes are needed, obtain relevant GA&A management approval before implementing scope changes, and manage multiple priorities and ambiguity without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Supervise and/or mentor junior audit staff, including co-ops and interns, as assigned, and contribute to individual and team technical development.
  • Proactively identify, help implement, and lead assigned continuous improvement initiatives related to audit methodology, investigation practices, analytics, reporting, and use of technology.
  • Support innovation by leveraging data analytics and new tools and techniques to enhance audit and investigation procedures, improve efficiency and risk identification, and contribute to broader GA&A organizational initiatives, as appropriate.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another related business discipline.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required, including the ability to prepare clear, concise audit and investigation reports in business English with limited supervision. Spanish is a bonus.
  • An advanced degree and/or professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CMA, CISA, or CFE is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit, Healthcare Compliance, Investigations, Public Accounting, or related fields is required.
  • Experience conducting or supporting financial audits, investigations, or compliance reviews involving anti-bribery, anti-corruption, or other compliance-related risks is preferred.
  • Big 4 investigation, accounting, or auditing experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global function and independently within cross-functional, multicultural teams is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Experience with audit and analytics tools such as TeamMate, ACL, Power BI or Tableau, and ERP systems such as SAP, is preferred.
  • This position is based in São Paulo, Brazil and may require up to 25% domestic and international travel.

The Company offers a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support employees’ physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being, including competitive compensation and benefits.
